A liquid separation system and related method for retaining floating and non-floating particulates within a storage chamber of a treatment tank. The tank may or may not include a bypass to allow a portion of liquid coming into the tank to bypass the storage chamber. The storage chamber includes an inlet and an outlet. The outlet may be positioned within the storage chamber to cause minimal disruption of the primary and secondary liquid flow patterns within the storage chamber. A circular or rotational flow pattern may be created within the storage chamber and an outlet port of the storage chamber may be centered on an axis of the circular flow pattern.

Apparatus for separating particulate from stormwater

A stormwater filter cartridge includes a housing with internal filter medium disposed along a flow path between a water inlet and a filtered water outlet. A solid wall float tube in a drainage space has an open lower end and open upper end and is movable between a lowered position and a raised position. As the housing fills, water level in the housing rises to cause the solid wall float tube to move to the raised position and a negative pressure draws fluid through the filter medium. As water level outside the filter cartridge drops, air enters the housing and causes the solid wall float tube to drop to the lowered position, and filtered water in a fluid reservoir backflows through the filter medium while air enters the housing by passing upward through the solid wall float tube so as to enhance rate of backflow.

Stormwater filtration apparatus, system and method

A stormwater filter assembly includes a hood and an outlet tube within the hood for draining filtered stormwater. The outlet tube has a solid wall along at least a portion of its height, and an inlet above the solid wall. A second tube is disposed about the outlet tube defining a flow space therebetween for receiving filtered stormwater. The second tube includes a wall that is perforated along at least a portion of its height that overlaps with the solid wall of the outlet tube such that filtered stormwater that enters the flow space must move upward to enter the outlet tube. A filter media is disposed between the hood and the second tube through which stormwater travels during a filtering operation.

Filter assembly, system and method

A plastic, corrugated open bottom chamber includes features such as one or more of (i) sub-corrugation features on corrugation crests and/or corrugation valleys, (ii) stiffening fingers on the bottom of chamber foot portions, (iii) a viewport configuration that intersects only a single corrugation crest and (iv) a unitary end wall. A method of producing chambers with or without a unitary end wall using a common mold tool is also provided. A method of interconnecting chambers to form a chamber rows is also provided.

Plastic detention chamber for stormwater runoff and related system and methods

A stormwater filtration system suitable for treatment of stormwater runoff in a developed environment uses a primary treatment bay that includes a filtration bed with live plant matter. A second treatment bay treats water that exceeds the maximum throughput of the primary bay. A reservoir stores treated runoff to water the plants during dry weather. Removable trays on the surface of the primary filtration bed provide plants suitable for ground cover. Additional bays expand the filtration bed throughput and accommodate extended root systems. A flow control may be provided for the primary treatment bay.

Stormwater filtration systems

A stormwater detention system includes a containment row for removing and collecting solids from stormwater. The containment row may be surrounded by a water-impermeable membrane, and designed to receive incoming water before other rows of the detention system. The containment row collects solids from the stormwater before the water is redirected into one or more additional rows, which are water permeable and buried in water permeable media. Filter structure may be associated with a flow system that delivers water from the containment row to the additional rows.

Stormwater chamber detention system

A filter assembly for use in filtering stormwater includes a bottom including a boss that includes a rib extending laterally along an inner surface of the boss. The rib includes a locking portion that mates with a corresponding locking portion on a peripheral surface of a connection to an outlet conduit for securing the bottom to the connection thereby inhibiting rotation of the bottom relative to the outlet conduit. A center tube is secured to the bottom using a locking mechanism that inhibits relative movement between the bottom and the center tube. The center tube is in communication with an opening in the bottom and a hood is secured to the center tube. A filter medium is located between the hood and the center tube.

Stormwater filter assembly

A system and related method for separating floating and nonfloating particulate and entrained, suspended, and/or dissolved contaminants from a fluid. The system includes a tank with a lower chamber spaced from an outlet or upper chamber by a confinement deck. The deck includes one or more sockets for receiving one or more filter units for fluid treatment. In addition, the lower chamber of the tank acts as a pretreatment sump to remove floating and nonfloating particulates, thereby reducing the load on the filter units. The filter units are configured for radial and/or upward flow of the fluid from the lower chamber. The filter units may include one or more filter media through which the fluid pass prior to exiting the tank. The filter units include a removable screening retainer for retaining the filter media and/or to screen relatively large contaminants. The filter unit may be removed for ease of tank maintenance and replacement of filter media. The system allows a method of contaminated fluid treatment under varying flow conditions by directing the fluid radially and/or upwardly through the retainer. Establishing both types of flow through the filter unit improves filtering and extends filter life without compromising desired flow through rates.

Fluid filter system and related method

A fluid separation system includes a tank with a storage chamber for retaining floating and non-floating particulates. The tank includes a baffle for retaining floating particulates within the storage chamber and for directing flow out of the storage chamber. The tank also includes a bypass with an inlet flow control zone and an outlet flow control zone. The flow control zones are separated by a weir sized and positioned to regulate the fluid flow through a baffle port into the storage chamber. The weir also provides control of the flow rate at which incoming fluid is diverted directly through the bypass to the tank outlet rather than into the storage chamber. The baffle and/or the weir may be curved, and the baffle may include a complex curve, to aid in the smoothing of the fluid flow within the storage chamber to improve particulate separation.

Apparatus for separating floating and non-floating particulate from a fluid stream

A screen apparatus for improved separation of particulates from a fluid stream. The screen is configured and arranged to filter relatively large particulates from the fluid stream as the fluid stream passes from a storage chamber of the tank to a tank outlet. The screen is removably affixed to a diverter, such as a baffle, used to divert a portion or all of the fluid into the storage chamber. The screen is preferably shaped to substantially conform to the shape of the diverter to aid in the smoothing of the fluid flow within the retention section of the tank. The screen may be entirely porous, or it may be non-porous at its leading edge to minimize particulate build-up at the transition from the tank interior wall to the screen. The apparatus may optionally include a second screen to provide additional filtering of floating particulates as the fluid level in the tank exceeds the crown elevation of the inlet. The second screen may be substantially horizontally oriented and may be combined with a collection weir. Alternatively, the second screen may be conical in shape. A high flow bypass arrangement for the separation system may include an upper baffle and a lower baffle or a screen instead of the lower baffle. The upper baffle is set closer to the center of the tank than the lower baffle or screen, thereby providing more volume for flow diversion behind the upper baffle.

Apparatus for separating particulates from a fluid stream

A stormwater runoff detention system includes a system including an inlet, a first surge chamber, a second surge chamber and one or more storage chambers. The first surge chamber is connected to receive stormwater from the inlet prior to the second surge chamber or the storage chamber. The first surge chamber includes a discharge outlet and an overflow outlet to the storage chamber. The second surge chamber is connected to receive stormwater from the inlet primarily after the first surge chamber has begun overflowing to the storage chamber. The second surge chamber includes a discharge outlet and an overflow outlet to the storage chamber or to a second storage chamber.
