A method for forming a guide structure in an elevator shaft provides a guide structure configured to guide an elevator car during vertical travel in the elevator shaft. The method includes the following steps: moving a tool, such as a milling tool, vertically along the elevator shaft, wherein the tool is precisely positioned with respect to the horizontal position thereof within the elevator shaft, and forming the guide structure by removing material on a shaft wall of the elevator shaft using the tool.

A method and device for safety braking an elevator having an upright guide rail wherein the device includes a housing having braking elements on both sides of and being movable along the guide rail, a safety restraint on both sides between the housing and the braking elements, and a clampable and lockable actuating device that unlocks and unclamps in response to a triggering event and brings the braking elements into braking engagement with the guide rail. The actuating device, when unclamped, develops a feed force and movement transverse to the guide rail longitudinal axis engaging the braking elements with the guide rail from a laterally distanced initial position, wherein the braking elements are entrained by frictional contact on the guide rail and enter the safety restraint, and wherein the actuating device is moved back into the initial position, clamped and locked by the braking elements located in the safety restraint.

A catching device for a traveling body in an elevator system and a method for unblocking the catching device include at least two retaining units that can be brought into a blocked state and into an unblocked state, the retaining units retaining the traveling body on a rail in the blocked state. The retaining units are connected to the traveling body such that each of the retaining units and the traveling body can be slid relative to each other within a limited sliding displacement. A first sliding displacement of a first of the retaining units is longer than a second sliding displacement of a second of the retaining units.

A brake unit for a safety brake of an elevator system has a rolling element on a rolling disk, which rolling element rolls on a stationary rolling track of a braking and guiding rail at least in some sections in the event of an activation of the safety brake. A brake lining of the brake unit interacts with a stationary braking track on the rail as a result of the rolling of the rolling element on the rolling track. At least one marking element on the rolling element produces a start marking and an end marking on the rolling track and/or the braking track when the rolling element rolls on the rolling track. Then the braking distance of the associated elevator car can be determined from the distance between the start marking and the end marking.

Brake for elevator systems

A speed limiter for an elevator installation includes a stand, a wheel rotatably mounted on the stand and a non-circularly extending guide surface rotatable with the wheel. A pendulum, which is pivotable relative to the stand, with a pendulum wheel bearing against the guide surface is provided. In addition, a restraining device is provided, which loads the pendulum wheel at least indirectly with a restraining force against the guide surface. A switching vane connected with the pendulum comes into engagement with a blocking dog, which dog is connected at least indirectly with the wheel, when the pendulum is pivoted out to a certain extent in which the pendulum wheel lifts off the guide surface. In addition, an actuating device that triggers the engagement between the switching vane and the blocking dog is provided.

Elevator installation with a speed limiter

In an elevator installation an elevator cage is movable along at least two guide rails and the elevator cage is equipped with a braking system. An elevator braking device includes a brake element, a force store, which is constructed to press the brake element against the brake surface, and an actuator, which can act on the brake element. A method of operating the braking device includes the actuator pressing, in a first operational setting, the brake element against the force of the force store away from the brake surface or to hold it at a spacing therefrom, and the actuator freeing, in a second operational setting, the brake element and allowing the force store to press the brake element against the brake surface.

Elevator braking method

A safety brake for an elevator system having at least one traveling body movable in an elevator shaft along a guide rail and/or a brake rail. The safety brake is suitable for braking and retaining the traveling body on the guide and/or brake rail as required. The safety brake includes a control plate for receiving a brake body and for positioning the brake body relative to the guide and/or brake rail. The brake body is designed in at least two pieces and includes a first brake element and a second brake element. The first brake element is solely for braking and retaining purposes when the traveling body is moving along the guide and/or brake rail in an upward direction, and the second brake element is solely for braking and retaining purposes when the traveling body is moving along the guide and/or the brake rail in a downward direction.

Safety brake for a travel body of an elevator system

A brake device for an elevator system with a travel body movable in an elevator shaft along a guide and/or brake rail brakes and retains the travel body on the rail as required. The brake device includes a control plate receiving a brake body and for positioning the brake body relative to the rail. The brake body has first and second brake elements pivoted about a common axis. The first brake element is for braking and retaining purposes when the travel body is moving along the rail in an upward direction, and the second brake element is for braking and retaining purposes when the travel body is moving along the rail in a downward direction.

Brake device for a travel body of an elevator system

An elevator cage is movable along at least two guide rails and the elevator cage is equipped with a braking system. The elevator braking device has a brake housing and a force store. The brake housing is mounted to be displaceable between a first position and a second position. The force store acts on the brake housing and pushes the brake housing in the direction of a second position. In addition, the elevator braking device includes an actuator which can act on the brake housing and keep the brake housing in a first position. The actuator in its first setting can hold the brake housing in the first position against the force of the force store. In a second setting the actuator enables pushing of the brake housing into the second position. A brake element is thereby brought into contact with the brake rail.

Braking device with actuating device

A brake system of an elevator, an escalator or a moving walkway includes a brake device with at least one brake shoe. The brake shoe has an effective surface which during brake use is pressed against a friction surface, which is moving or movable relative to the effective surface, of a counter-member. The brake system also includes a feed device which is supplied by a fluid source. A fluid can be fed between the effective surface of the brake shoe and the friction surface, which faces it, by means of the feed device. The friction between the effective surface and the friction surface can be influenced by the feed of the fluid.

In an elevator installation an elevator cage is movable along at least two guide rails and the elevator cage is equipped with a braking system. An elevator braking device includes a brake element, a force store, which is constructed to press the brake element against the brake surface, and an actuator, which can act on the brake element and which is constructed in order to press, in a first operational setting, the brake element against the force of the force store away from the brake surface or to hold it at a spacing therefrom and in order to free, in a second operational setting, pressing of the brake element against the brake surface.
