In various embodiments, a consistency application constructs a consistent view of an eventually consistent database. The consistency application determines multiple backup files that are associated with at least one datacenter included in the eventually consistent database and extracts aggregated data from the backup files. The consistency application performs compaction operation(s) on the aggregated data to generate compacted data. Notably, the aggregated data includes at least two replicas for each data item stored in the eventually consistent database, whereas the compacted data includes a different consistent data item for each data item stored in that eventually consistent database. The consistency application generated the consistent view of the eventually consistent database based on the compacted data. Because the consistency application generates the consistent view based on backup files and does not access the eventually consistent database, generating the consistent view does not adversely impact the performance of the eventually consistent database.

Techniques for generating a consistent view of an eventually consistent database

Interactive calling may include implementations of a platform, which may receive a call initiation request from a caller device associated with a user, which may be identified by a caller identifier. The callee identifier may include a call preview, which may be inputted on the caller device. A callee device associated with the callee identifier may be determined. A call interface may be instructed to initiate a call and may be configured to connect the call to the caller device and the callee device. Call metadata may be sent to the callee device, and the call metadata may include the call preview. Reactions may be received from the caller device or the callee device while the call is in progress, which may be logged in a call summary. The call summary may be sent to at least one of the caller device, the callee device, or an external platform.

Interactive calling methods and systems

A method for dynamically creating network access control lists includes, by a processor receiving a request for an access control list (ACL). The method further includes, in response to receiving the request for the ACL: receiving a plurality of resource description from a first data source, receiving a policy enforcement point (PEP) graph for a network from a second data source, and using the plurality of resource descriptions and the PEP graph to generate the ACL, wherein the ACL comprises at least one policy for controlling network traffic through a PEP of the network. Each of the plurality of resource descriptions is associated with a plurality of computing devices in the network, and includes one or more of the following: information corresponding to an Internet Protocol definition of a computing device, information corresponding to desired access of the computing device, and information corresponding to permitted access of the computing device.

Methods and systems for dynamic creation of access control lists

An electrical coupling device, such as a surge protector for a rail or other conductive structure, includes a pair of terminals, and a jumper for selectively electrically coupling and decoupling the terminals. Movement of the jumper may expose part of the jumper or one or both of the terminals, such as for use as a test point. A surge module with one or more surge protection features may fit into a base that includes the terminal and the jumper. The module may have an interface feature, such as a protruding post, that prevents engagement with the base if the base is not properly engaged with the rail or other structure. In one embodiment, a threaded rod may serve as the jumper and in one position electrically couples the terminals and in another position electrically decouples the terminals and one end of the threaded rod becomes exposed for use as a test point.

A conveyance such as a wheelchair that includes a seat assembly and a chassis. The chassis comprises a central frame member disposed substantially along the centerline of the wheelchair. The central frame member includes portions for connecting to or supporting one or more front casters, a seat assembly, one or more drive wheel assemblies, an energy source (e.g., one or more batteries), rear anti-tip wheels, and/or at least one footplate. The central frame member is disposed substantially along the centerline of the wheelchair and structurally distributes of the weight of the seat assembly (and optionally the weight of the energy source) to the supporting drive wheels and casters. In this manner, a clean-looking, simple, and lightweight chassis structure is provided for a conveyance.

A multi-wave thermal process for treating a metal to improve structural characteristics is herein disclosed. The metal can be placed in a chamber. Each wave of the process can include: selecting a target temperature; selecting a temperature rate; and controlling the temperature rate while chilling the metal by introducing a cryogenic material into the chamber, while preventing over-stressing of the metal, to the target temperature at the temperature rate. While chilling the metal, the process can include inserting a hold time on the metal at an intermediate temperature for equalization of the temperature uniformly throughout the metal, thereby creating uniformity in a microcrystalline structure of the metal. The process can further include: stopping the introduction of the cryogenic material once the target temperature is reached and holding the metal at the target temperature. The process can result in a treated metal without fractures and with an organized microcrystalline structure.

A thermal process for treating a metal to improve at least one structural characteristic of the metal comprising: placing a metal with a metal temperature within a thermal control apparatus, introducing a cryogenic material to decrease the metal temperature, while preventing over-stressing of the metal, to a first target temperature ranging from &#x2212;120 degrees Fahrenheit to &#x2212;380 degrees Fahrenheit at a first temperature rate, ranging from degrees Fahrenheit per minute to 20 degrees Fahrenheit per minute, stopping the introduction of cryogenic material once the first target temperature is reached, and increasing the chamber temperature to a second target temperature ranging from 0 degrees Fahrenheit to 1400, and increasing the metal temperature to the second target temperature at a second temperature rate ranging from 0.25 degrees Fahrenheit per minute to 20 degrees Fahrenheit per minute, resulting in a treated metal without fractures.

Thermal process to improve metallurgical characteristics

The method of making steel with carbide banding entails using steel with undissolved carbides distributed within the steel for forming steel with carbide banding, wherein the steel is about 0.3 weight percent to about 2.2 weight percent carbon and at least 0.003 weight percent of chromium, molybdenum, aluminum, vanadium, tungsten, or a similar carbide forming element; then, deforming the steel with undissolved carbides to create steel with carbide banding upon cooling, heating the steel with undissolved carbides for a specified time ranging at a specified temperature to form an austenitic steel with undissolved carbides, and cooling the austenitic steel with undissolved carbides to maintain the undissolved carbides within a crystalline matrix forming steel with carbide banding.

Method for forming carbide banding in steel materials using deformation

The invention is a method of making a steel article comprising carbide banding by using steel with undissolved carbides distributed within the steel, wherein the steel is about 0.3 weight percent to about 2.2 weight percent carbon and at least 0.003 weight percent of chromium, molybdenum, aluminum, vanadium, tungsten, or a similar carbide forming element; then, heating the steel with carbides for a time ranging between about 5 minutes to about 12 hours at a temperature above an A-sub 1 temperature and below 50 degrees Fahrenheit of an A-sub 3 temperature to form an austenitic steel with undissolved carbides; and cooling the austenitic steel with undissolved carbides to maintain the undissolved carbides within a chosen crystalline matrix creating carbide banding in the steel.

Method for making a steel article with carbides already in the steel and no deformation used in the process

The invention is method of making steel with carbide banding obtaining steel with undissolved carbides distributed within the steel for forming steel with carbide banding, wherein the steel is about 0.3 weight percent to about 2.2 weight percent carbon and at least 0.003 weight percent of chromium, molybdenum, aluminum, vanadium, tungsten, or a similar carbide forming element; then, deforming the steel with undissolved carbide, moving a portion of the steel with undissolved carbides, heating the steel with undissolved carbides for a time ranging from about 5 minutes to about 12 hours at a temperature above an A-sub 1 temperature and below 50 degrees Fahrenheit of an A-sub 3 temperature to form an austenitic steel with undissolved carbides, and cooling the austenitic steel with undissolved carbides to maintain the undissolved carbides within a crystalline matrix forming steel with carbide banding.

Method for making steel with carbides already in the steel using material removal and deformation

The thermally treated carbide materials are made by placing a carbide within a thermal control apparatus and subjecting the carbide to one or more thermal cycles. The first thermal cycles involves introducing a cryogenic material into the thermal control apparatus decreasing the carbide temperature, while preventing over-stressing of the carbide, to a first target temperature at a first temperature rate. The carbide temperature is then increased to a second target temperature at a second temperature rate. The second thermal cycle involves introducing the cryogenic material to decrease the carbide temperature, while preventing over-stressing, to a third temperature at a third temperature rate ranging. The temperature is then increased to a fourth temperature at a fourth temperature rate. The result of the process is a treated carbide without fractures.

The thermal process for treating a metal to improve structural characteristics of the metal entails placing a metal within a thermal control apparatus; introducing a cryogenic material into the thermal control apparatus to decrease the metal temperature, while preventing over-stressing of the metal, to a first target temperature ranging from &#x2212;40 degrees F. and &#x2212;380 degrees F. at a first temperature rate ranging from 0.25 degrees per minute and 20 degrees per minute; stopping the introduction of the cryogenic material once the first target temperature is reached; increasing the chamber temperature to a second target, temperature ranging from 0 degrees F. and 1400 degrees F.; and increasing the metal temperature to the second target temperature at a second temperature rate ranging from 0.25 degrees per minute and 20 degrees per minute, resulting in a treated metal without fractures.
