The housing including a front housing wall having a first housing edge and a second housing edge opposite the first housing edge, a first housing side wall projecting from the first housing edge and having a first retaining slot, and a second housing side wall oppositely disposed relative to the first housing side wall, projecting from the second housing edge and having second retaining slot in registered alignment with the first retaining slot. The pivot nose including a front pivot nose wall having a first pivot nose edge and a second pivot nose edge opposite the first pivot nose edge, a first pivot nose side wall projecting from the first pivot nose edge and having a first pivot nose through hole, and a second pivot nose side wall oppositely disposed relative to the first pivot nose side wall, projecting from the second pivot nose edge and having a second pivot nose through hole, the first and second pivot nose through holes are in registered alignment with the first and second retaining slot. The spring pack disposed within a volume formed by the housing and including a first end engaged with the housing, a second end engaged with the pivot nose, and an energy storage device arranged between the first and second ends.

Counterbalance

A switching system including a switch activation pin, a switch, and a switch connector is provided. The switch activation pin mounts to an arm that pivotally mounts a door to a body of a device. The switch activation pin moves with the arm when the door is opened or closed. The switch mounts to the device to control a component of the device. The switch connector mounts to the device to activate the switch based on a position of the switch activation pin.

Hinge mounted switch control device

A hinge including a device bracket, a door bracket, a first arm, a second arm, and a door stop is provided. The device bracket mounts to a device surface. The door bracket mounts to a door surface of a door. The first arm is mounted for rotation about a first pin and a second pin. The second arm is mounted for rotation about a third pin and a fourth pin. The first pin and third pin are mounted to the device bracket, and the second pin and fourth pin are mounted to the door bracket. The first pin is closer to an axis of rotation of the door than the third pin when the door is in a closed position. The door stop is mounted to the second arm and positioned to contact the first arm when the door is opened to a selected angle.

Soft opening for a hinge

A hinge including a device bracket, a door bracket, a first arm, a second arm, and a closure device is provided. The first arm mounts to the device bracket at a first pin and to the door bracket at a second pin. The second arm mounts to the device bracket at a third pin and to the door bracket at a fourth pin. The third pin is closer to an axis of rotation of a door than the first pin when the door is in a closed position. The closure device includes a closure device body mounted to move with the second arm, a rod mounted within the closure device body, a spring, a spring retainer mounted to the rod, and a nut mounting the rod to the device bracket. The spring is mounted between the spring retainer and the closure device body to exert a force on the second arm.

Controlled closure system for a hinge

A hinge assembly includes a first member configured to be coupled to a door, a second member configured to be pivotally coupled to the first member, the second member having first and second mounting surfaces, and a mounting bracket configured to be coupled to the body. The mounting bracket may be at least partially located between the first and second mounting surfaces, and the second member may be adjustable relative to the mounting bracket to enable adjustment of the door relative to the body.
