Example techniques for suggesting a tag to promote a discussion topic may include the following operations: receiving text into a display field; performing a search to identify a topic relating to the text, where the topic is among plural topics being discussed on a social networking service; identifying a title of a discussion on the social network service that relates to the identified topic; ranking the title among other titles of discussion topics based, at least in part, on a number of members of the social networking service that are participating in the discussion; and suggesting, based on the ranking, a text entry for the display field that promotes posting to the discussion identified by the title.

A method performed by one or more processing devices includes obtaining search results responsive to a search query submitted by a user; determining a maturity score for the user, where the maturity score represents a measure of development of a particular user attribute; determining, based on the maturity score, utility scores for the search results, where a utility score represents a measure of utility of a particular type of content to a particular type of user as defined by the measure of development of the particular user attribute; and adjusting rankings of the search results based on the utility scores.

Adjusting a ranking of search results

A system and machine-implemented method for calculating a dynamic delay for an email message, the method including receiving an indication of an email message being created by a user, identifying one or more characteristics of the email message in response to receiving the indication, determining an impact associated with the email message based on one or more of the identified one or more characteristics of the email message or one or more behavioral information regarding the user sending the email message, determining a customized delay for the email message based on the determined impact, the delay comprising a length of time and delivering the email message to one or more recipients of the email message after the length of time has elapsed.

Dynamic delay in undo functionality based on email message characteristics

Techniques include: receiving a first search query from a user; determining a topic associated with the first search query; sending a second search query to the user, where the second search query is associated with the topic and is different from the first search query; receiving a selection of the second search query from the user; and, when the second search query has been received from other users more than a specified number of times within a time window, sending an invitation to the user. The invitation may be for inviting participation in an online social group that includes others who have sent the second query to the server system within the time window. The invitation can be for inviting participation in an online social group including other users (e.g., members of a social network) who have sent the second query to the server system within the time window.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for presenting search results. One of the methods includes receiving a first content request, the first content request comprises one or more search terms received within a social networking application. The method includes determining a first level of popularity of the first content request, the first level of popularity based on the frequency with which the first content request has been previously submitted. The method includes comparing the first level of popularity to a second level of popularity, the second level of popularity based on the frequency with which a second query has been previously submitted. The method includes determining that the second level of popularity exceeds the first level of popularity. The method includes determining search results responsive to the second content request. The method includes providing at least one of the search results.

Presenting search results

A mobile device includes a stereoscopic camera that generates 3D image data of a surrounding environment of the mobile device, a GPS module that determines a GPS location of the surrounding environment, a communication module that receives from a remote server a map of the surrounding environment based on the GPS location of the surrounding environment, and a processor. The processor determines a location of at least one object in the surrounding environment based on the 3D image data, compares the map of the surrounding environment with the location of the at least one object in the surrounding environment, and determines a current location of the mobile device on the map within the surrounding environment based on the comparison.
