An injection device includes a housing having a receptacle for a vessel for holding injection fluid; an operator-manipulated element for setting an injection dose; a dosing member rotatable about a longitudinal center axis relative to the housing when setting the injection dose; a feed part; and, a latching unit acting between the feed part and housing. The dosing member has a zero position whereat no dose is set and an injection position whereat an intended dose of injection fluid is set. A spring acts between the dosing member and the housing to return the dosing member from an intermediate position to the injection position or a zero position.

An injection device () comprising a housing (), a needle hub () slidable within the housing (), a needle () having a distal end piercing tip () and a proximal end piercing tip (), the needle hub being moveable from a first position wherein the distal end piercing tip () is within the housing to a second position wherein the distal end piercing tip () extends outwardly of the housing (), a spring () biasing the needle hub () towards the first position, and a cartridge receiving member () mounted within the housing (), and a plunger rod assembly () for exerting pressure on the cartridge receiving member () to move the cartridge () and the needle hub () from the first position to the second position, the plunger rod assembly () and the cartridge receiving member () being arranged such that when the cartridge rod assembly is pushed, a rotational movement is imparted to the cartridge receiving member () to thereby prevent access to the cartridge after injection.

A transfer device for pharmaceuticals comprising a housing which has an open bottom permitting insertion of a vial within the housing, a piercing member mounted within the housing and having an interior passageway formed therein, a connector for a syringe located on top of the housing, and a moveable member mounted within the housing, the moveable member being moveable from a first position preventing access to the piercing member and a second position permitting access to the piercing member when the vial is inserted in the housing.

Reconstitution device

A method for transferring and mixing a pharmaceutical mixture utilizing a by-pass cartridge and a syringe. After mixing the dry component and the diluent in the by-pass cartridge, the mixture can be passed to a syringe which includes a syringe plunger having a fluid passageway therein with a hydrophobic membrane covering the passageway. The mixture can be transferred back and forth between the by-pass cartridge and the syringe through a small bore to achieve mixing, particularly in the case of microspheres held in suspension.

A transfer system suitable for medicaments comprising a vial socket, a housing having first and second open ends with the first open end being releasably connected to the vial socket, a needle hub mounted within the housing, a needle having first and second piercing ends mounted in the needle hub, a vial having a neck and a body, the vial being inserted in the vial socket and being non removably retained therein, a cartridge having a plunger sealing an open end thereof and a septum located at an opposite end of the cartridge, and an activation cap for causing the needle to penetrate a septum of the vial and the septum of the cartridge to permit transfer of components therebetween.

Inter vial transfer system

A transfer and mixing device which utilizes a by-pass cartridge and a syringe. After mixing the dry component and the diluent in the by-pass cartridge, the mixture can be passed to a syringe which includes a syringe plunger having a fluid passageway therein with a hydrophobic membrane covering the passageway. A transfer assembly for transfering a fluid to a vial, admixing the same and then returning the fluid to a cartridge, the transfer assembly having a vial gripper located at a first end and a cartridge holder at the second end of an elongated outer housing, a fluid passageway extending between the vial gripper and the cartridge holder with piercing elements being located at respective ends of the fluid passageway. In a preferred embodiment, an adaptor is mounted on the end of the outer housing where the cartridge holder is situated. The adaptor may move from a retracted to an extended position wherein it will surround the needle.

Reconstitution system for mixing the contents of a vial containing a first substance with a second substance stored in a cartridge

A system and method for transferring a fluid from a first container to a second container, the system comprising a first container () having a fluid () therein, the first container being sealed by a septum () and a piston (), the second container being sealed at its mouth by a pierceable septum () and having a plunger () at the opposite end, a moveable needle shuttle () having first () and second () piercing ends, the arrangement being such that upon advancement of the first container with respect to the second container, a second one of the piercing ends () is adapted to pierce plunger () of the second container and a first piercing end () being designed to pierce the septum () of the first container.

Device for transferring fluid from a cartridge to a container

The present invention provides a transfer assembly for transferring a fluid between a vessel and a vial and a method for using same. The vial may be a maximum recovery vial. The vessel has a body with an open end and a slidable piston positioned within the body through the open end. The maximum recovery vial has an inner chamber with an open end and a closed end and a penetrable seal covering the open end of the inner chamber. The transfer assembly includes a housing having first and second open ends and a bore extending between the first and second open ends. The housing is connectable to the piston. The transfer assembly also includes a conduit having first and second ends and first and second apertures adjacent to the first and second ends, respectively. The conduit is longitudinally slidable within the bore between a retracted position in which the first aperture is positioned within at least one of the housing and the piston when the housing is connected to the piston, and an activated position in which the first aperture protrudes through the piston into the body of the vessel when the housing is connected to the piston. The transfer assembly also includes a vial socket assembly having a vial socket and a hollow piercing member. The vial socket is sized and shaped for receiving and engaging at least a portion of the maximum recovery vial including the penetrable seal. The hollow piercing member has a first open end in fluid communication with the conduit and a second open end for piercing the penetrable seal of the maximum recovery vial. The hollow piercing member is sized to extend substantially the full length of the inner chamber of the maximum recovery vial when the maximum recovery vial is fully engaged in the vial socket. The vial socket assembly is moveable longitudinally relative to the housing in concert with the conduit.
