A system and method are provided for automatically implementing a commanded change in elevation of a ground profile being created by a work vehicle such as a dozer using a slope control system of the work vehicle. A controller calculates an adjusted target value of a mainfall slope and an adjustment distance sufficient to achieve the desired change in elevation and then controls the mainfall slope of the work vehicle to the adjusted target value as the work vehicle advances by the adjustment distance. Then the mainfall slope is automatically returned to its original value.

Elevation increment-decrement with slope control

A system and method for adaptive calibration of a self-propelled work vehicle comprising a chassis and a blade front-mounted thereto for working a ground surface. First sensor signals correspond to a blade slope, and second sensor signals correspond to a chassis slope. During a first operating mode, a blade position is controlled relative to the chassis, based at least on a stored calibration value and a detected difference between the blade slope and a target slope of the ground surface, and a difference is also determined between the chassis slope and the target slope of the ground surface. During a second operating mode, the position of the blade is controlled relative to the chassis until the chassis slope corresponds to the target slope of the ground surface, and the stored calibration value is altered based on adjustments to the blade position during the second operating mode.

System and method for adaptive calibration of blade position control on self-propelled work vehicles

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for controlling a work implement (e.g., front-mounted blade) relative to a work vehicle to produce a desired profile in a ground surface. Chassis-mounted sensor(s) detect an actual pitch velocity and an actual pitch angle of the chassis relative to the ground. Further sensor(s) detect an actual lift position of the blade relative to the chassis. A desired profile to be produced by the blade with respect to the ground surface is determined, for example via an automated grade control system, via manually-initiated trigger(s), and/or via time-based rolling averages of detected values. A position of the implement is automatically controlled as a function of each of the actual pitch velocity, the actual pitch angle of the chassis relative to the ground, and the actual lift position of the work implement relative to the chassis, corresponding to the desired profile with respect to the ground surface.

Self-propelled work vehicle and control method for blade stabilization accounting for chassis movement

Systems and methods are provided for enhancing diagnosis of control logic by automatically triggering latent or quiescent diagnostic logic in response to a CAN bus signal and without requiring a software update of the control logic. The diagnostic logic may be triggered to provide an increase in the frequency of CAN messages that are generated. The diagnostic logic may be further triggered to provide a generation of additional CAN messages reporting operation signals beyond those that are normally generated. The diagnostic logic may be further triggered to provide higher priority to selected CAN messages reporting operation signals. The diagnostic logic may be still further triggered to one or more of increase the frequency of selected CAN report messages, generate additional CAN messages reporting operation signals beyond those that are normally generated, and/or provide higher priority to selected CAN messages reporting operation signals, each without requiring a software update.

Using latent diagnostic capabilities for additional CAN bus monitoring

A work vehicle including a chassis, a ground engaging implement configured to move the chassis along a ground surface, a boom connected to the chassis, an arm connected to the boom, and a bucket connected to the arm. A first actuator rotates the boom with respect to the chassis, second actuator rotates the arm with respect to the boom, and a third actuator rotates the bucket with respect to the arm. A processor calculates a first cycle time of operation of the first actuator, and analyzes if the calculated first cycle time is valid. If the first cycle time is valid, the processor communicates the calculated first cycle time to a user, and if the first cycle time is not valid, the processor repeats the calculation of the first cycle time of operation of the first actuator.

Cycle time calibration

A method of determining wheel slippage condition in a work vehicle includes moving the work vehicle from a first position to a second position, determining a drivetrain ground speed of the work vehicle using a drivetrain component, determining a predicted ground speed of the work vehicle using a sensor, detecting a wheel slippage condition by comparing the drivetrain ground speed to the predicted ground speed, and generating a driveline modification command to adjust propulsion power of the drivetrain component until the wheel slippage condition reaches a specified target. A method of adjusting acceleration for a work vehicle includes measuring a drivetrain acceleration, measuring an absolute acceleration, using the absolute acceleration to predict a ground speed, determining a steady state condition based on the commanded machine motion, the drivetrain speed, and the absolute acceleration, and modifying the predicted ground speed based on determination of the steady state condition.
