Systems and methods for monitoring, tracking and tracing logistics

A workplace safety system includes an item of monitored equipment, a mobile communications device, and a scoring computing system. The item of monitored equipment includes a sensor, a transmitter, and a computing unit. The sensor is configured to generate signals. The computing unit is electrically coupled with each of the sensor and the transmitter. The mobile communications device is in wireless communication with the transmitter via a short-range communication protocol. The scoring computing system is in networked communication with the mobile communications device and is configured to receive data. The data includes an identity of an operator of the item of monitored equipment. A characteristic of operation is determined based upon the signals from the sensor and represents a manner by which the operator has used the item of monitored equipment. The scoring computing system is configured to generate a safety score associated with the operator. Methods are also provided.

Worksite safety systems, apparatuses, devices and methods

A ladder including sensors is provided. A remote computing device is also provided that communicates with the sensors to facilitate detection of various operating conditions. Methods for detection are also provided. One aspect of the invention provides a method for detecting stability of a ladder, the ladder comprising a pair of side rails, a plurality of steps that extend between the side rails, a sensor coupled with the ladder and configured to detect loading on the ladder. The method includes: communicating wirelessly, by a remote computing device, with the sensor; detecting, by the remote computing device, a presence of a user on the ladder; during the presence of a user on the ladder, monitoring the sensor, by the remote computing device, for an instability condition; and when the instability condition occurs, generating an alert of the instability condition.

A transducer assembly includes a mounting base, a collar, a magnet, and a Hall effect sensor. The collar defines a bore. One of the magnet and the Hall effect sensor is disposed within the bore and attached to the mounting base. The other of the magnet and the Hall effect sensor is attached to the collar. The Hall effect sensor is spaced from the magnet and is configured to detect movement of at least a portion of the collar relative to the mounting base.

A method for monitoring operation of an archery bow includes attaching an apparatus to a bow cord. The apparatus includes a processor, a monitoring device electrically coupled with the processor, a wireless communication module electrically coupled with the processor, and a power supply electrically coupled with each of the processor and the wireless communication module. The method further includes detecting, by the monitoring device, a tension of the bow cord. The method also includes generating, by the processor and based upon the detected tension of the bow cord, data concerning tension of the bow cord. The method further includes wirelessly transmitting, by the wireless communication module, the data to a remote computing device. The method also includes receiving, by the remote computing device, the data. The method also includes presenting, by the remote computing device and based upon the data, information to a user reflecting the detected tension.

Monitoring system for an archery bow, monitoring devices, and methods for same

A transducer assembly includes an engagement plate, a mounting plate, a support structure, and first and second Hall effect sensor assemblies. The mounting plate defines an S-shaped cutout extending through the mounting plate to define first and second finger regions and a perimeter region. The first finger region includes a first distal end spaced from the perimeter region by a first gap defined by the S-shaped cutout. The second finger region includes a second distal end spaced from the perimeter region by a second gap defined by the S-shaped cutout. The support structure includes a base and first and second tabs. The base is sandwiched between the engagement plate and the mounting plate. The first and second tabs extend from the base and into the first and second gaps, respectively. The first and second Hall effect sensor assemblies are configured to detect movement of the first and second tabs, respectively.

Hall effect transducer assemblies and methods

A method for tracking a parcel with a tracking device is provided.

A transducer assembly includes a ring wall, a first arm, a second arm, a magnet, and a Hall effect sensor. The ring wall defines a bore. The first and second arms are disposed within the bore and include first and second proximal and distal ends, respectively. The first and second proximal ends are coupled to and extend from first and second interior locations of the ring wall, respectively. The second interior location is spaced from the first interior location. The magnet is disposed within the bore and is fixedly coupled to the first arm. The Hall effect sensor is disposed within the bore and is fixedly coupled to the second arm. The Hall effect sensor is spaced from the magnet and is configured to detect movement of the magnet resulting from compression of the ring wall. Methods are also provided.

Ring type transducer assemblies and methods

A transducer assembly includes a mounting base, a collar, a magnet, and a Hall effect sensor. The collar defines a bore and extends from a proximal end to a distal end. The proximal end is fixedly coupled with the mounting base. One of the magnet and the Hall effect sensor is disposed within the bore and fixedly coupled to the mounting base. The other of the magnet and the Hall effect sensor is fixedly coupled to the distal end of the collar. The Hall effect sensor is spaced longitudinally from the magnet and is configured to detect lateral deflection of the distal end of the collar. Methods are also provided.
