A printing system capable of accurately positioning a lenticular array in registration with a rectilinear raster includes a printer that is capable of printing onto a printable surface. The printer has a main support surface on which the printable surface rests. The system further includes a series of raised parallel relief features being spatially formed along a printable substrate that is supported by the main support surface. The raised parallel relief features are raised to a sufficient height above the printable substrate such that when the lenticular array is disposed upon the raised parallel relief features, each raised parallel relief feature fits and is disposed within a valley formed between two respective adjoining lenticules of the lenticular array.

The present invention embodies a technique, referred to as Secure QR Codes, which not only provides aesthetically enhanced QR codes but also allows for security. It can embed a standard black and white QR code, referred to as a public QR code, and a secret QR code, both into a secure QR code. The secure QR code produced is composed of colored cells. The public black and white QR code must first be, either aesthetically enhanced into an enhanced colored QR code, or transformed into a colored QR code with cells of uniform color obtained by transforming each of the black and white cells of the public QR code into cells that takes a color from a subset of possible colors, such that the luminance of each colored cell approximates accurately the black or white luminance values of the public QR code.

Disclosed are a method and apparatus for embedding a graphic image representation into a two dimensional matrix code by modifying the characteristic values of individual pixels in the image according the values of a provided two dimensional matrix code image. The modified character pixel values are determined using an optimization procedure that minimizes a visual distortion with respect to the original graphic image representation while maintaining the value of a probability of error model below a specified limit.

System and method for embedding of a two dimensional code with an image

Disclosed are a method and apparatus for embedding a graphic representation into a two dimensional matrix code by modifying the luminance of individual pixels in the image according the values of a provided QR code image. The modified luminance values are determined by an optimization procedure which minimizes a visual distortion metric with respect to the original graphic representation while maintaining the value of a model for the probability of decoding and detection error below a specified limit.

System and method for embedding a two dimensional code in video images

A method and system for using one or more sensors configured to capture two-dimensional and/or three dimensional image data of one or more objects. In particular, the method and system combine one or more digital sensors with visible and near infrared illumination to capture visible and non-visible range spectral image data for one or more objects. The captured spectral image data can be used to separate and identify the one or more objects. Additionally, the three-dimensional image data can be used to determine a volume for each of the one or more objects. The identification and volumetric data for one or more objects can be used individually or in combination to obtain characteristics about the objects. The method and system provide the user with the ability to capture images of one or more objects and obtain related characteristics or information about each of the one or more objects.

Imaging system object recognition and assessment

Spectral imaging sensors and methods are disclosed. One spectral imaging sensor includes a light source, an array of coded apertures, one or more optical elements, and a photodetector. The light source is configured to emit a plurality of pulses of light toward an object to be imaged. The array of coded apertures is positioned to spatially modulate light received from the object to be imaged. The optical elements are configured to redirect light from the array of coded apertures. The photodetector is positioned to receive light from the one or more optical elements. The photodetector comprise a plurality of light sensing elements. The plurality of light sensing elements are operable to sense the light from the one or more optical elements in a plurality of time periods. The plurality of time periods have a same frequency as the plurality of pulses of light.

A method of integrating a radial zoom effect with a complementary radial image transition effect includes integrating the effects such that the two blended radial effects share a common center, and thereby share common displacement paths during the perceived transition. In addition to the visual appeal of the effect, the invention also resolves operational incompatibilities between the practice of commercial photography and the practice of lenticular printing. A lenticular product is formed in accordance with this method.

A surface measurement module for 3-D triangulation-based image acquisition of a surface-under-inspection and under observation by at least one camera. A surface measurement module for 3-D image acquisition of a subject-under-inspection. The module having: (a) a casing to house a pattern shifting device having a fixed-pattern optic through which light from a light source is passed, an output of the pattern shifting device being directed at a polarizing beam splitter and the polarized output of the splitter directed through a lens assembly comprising at least one lens element; (b) a reflector to direct the polarized output exiting the lens assembly, to illuminate a surface of the subject-under-inspection; (c) a scattered light illumination off the surface is directed back through the lens assembly for capture by an image sensor; and (d) the casing also housing the polarizing beam splitter, the lens assembly, and the image sensor. The output of the fixed-pattern optic comprises a multi-frequency pattern. The pattern shifting device may be a linear or rotating type.
