A device and method for non-contact optical imaging of a selected surface area of a user's hand, wherein the surface area is actively guided in a non-contact manner into a target position with respect to an image capture unit. For this purpose, the device has a frame in which the hand is inserted, assuming an actual position, roughly related to the target position. In addition, the device contains at least one active means for localizing the respective actual position and an output unit via which feedback is given to the user and the user iteratively guides the surface area into the target position. Advantageously, the device and method are suitable for distinguishing a natural hand from an artificial hand.

Device and method for non-contact optical imaging of a selected surface area of a hand

A device for displaying information and for the contact-based, simultaneous capture of impressions of a plurality of blood-perfused skin regions of human autopodia, including: a placement surface for placing the autopodia, a display unit which is arranged below the placement surface and which has at least partially transparent display elements which are arranged in grid form and are individually controllable by a control unit, the display elements having display pixels which emit light in a direction of the placement surface. The device also includes optical sensor pixels which detect light incident on the sensor pixels. The sensor pixels may be arranged in a sensor layer arranged under the display unit viewed from direction of the contacting skin region or may be arranged in the display unit between the display elements. A cavity filter for angle selection is arranged in front of the optical sensor pixels.

Device for capturing impressions of autopodia and use of same

A device for displaying information and for capture of prints of a plurality of skin areas of human autopodia by means of reflection, comprising: a placement surface for applying the autopodia, a touch-sensitive layer, an LC unit with pixels arranged which are individually controllable by a control unit, an illumination unit with a transparent light-guide-layer body, first and second illumination means, and an optical sensor layer with sensors below the light-guide-layer body. The first illumination means emits diffuse light in a first wavelength range, and the second emits directed light in a predefined angular range and in a second wavelength range. The sensor elements are sensitive to light of the second wavelength range. The pixels are switchable between a state which is transparent to the diffuse light and directed light and a state which is opaque to the diffuse light, and are illuminated by the diffuse light for displaying information.

Device for displaying information and for capturing autopodial impressions

A method for monitoring a mobile input device with a screen on which information can be displayed in a first pixel raster of image elements and which comprises a flat optical fingerprint reader and a second pixel raster of light-sensitive sensor elements. A fingerprint and fingerprint characteristics, comprising position of the finger on the screen are detected. The sensor elements detect the light intensity incident on them. The intensity levels are assembled into a static pattern of the fingerprint. The combination of the static pattern and the fingerprint characteristics are compared with a database. If the combination is in the database, a check is carried out whether an action is associated with this combination, which is then carried out, or whether no action is associated with this combination, whereupon a first standard action is carried out. If the combination is not stored, a second standard action is carried out.

Method and device for monitoring a mobile input device

A device for direct optical recording of skin prints offers recording of human skin prints for personal identification permitting a display layer directly below the placement surface. A light guide layer arranged below the sensor layer has at least one LED at a narrow side and light out-coupling structures which, by means of an inclination angle c and differences in the refractive indices relative to neighboring layers, permit a directed coupling out of light at a defined angle which results in total internal reflection at the placement surface at the air interface and with a small divergence angle range of &#x2264;+/&#x2212;15&#xb0;. A first adhesion layer between cover layer and sensor layer and a second adhesion layer between sensor layer and light guide layer are provided, the refractive indices of which are 1% to 30% lower than the refractive indices of light guide layer and sensor layer.

Device for the direct optical recording of skin prints

A Hough processor comprises a pre-processor and a Hough transformation unit. The pre-processor is configured to receive a plurality of samples respectively comprising an image and in order to rotate or reflect the image of the respective sample. The Hough transformation unit is configured to collect a predetermined searched pattern in the plurality of samples on the basis of a plurality of versions. The Hough transformation unit comprises a characteristic being dependent on the searched pattern, which is adjustable according to the searched pattern.

A device for contact-based capture of human autopodial prints using disturbed total internal reflection, comprising a protective body with a contact surface, a sensor layer comprising light-sensor elements in an array for detecting light of a predefined wavelength range, and a light guide. Passband areas transparent for light of the predefined range are between the sensor elements. The light guide is transparent to light in the range and includes parallel lower and upper faces. The faces define a coupling-in surface for light emitted from a light source in a limited angular range around a preferred direction. Due to the directed angle of incidence, light entering the light guide is totally internally reflected at the faces. A mirror layer between the sensors and the guide reflects some light back into the light guide and transmits other light. Light exiting the guide is homogenized dependent upon a distance to the light source.

Device for the contact-based simultaneous capture of prints of autopodia

A device and method for direct recording of prints of a rolled finger provide optimal recording of rolled fingerprints by a user by visually displayed influencing of the rolling movement during the roll process. By direct recording of the rolled finger by a layer body with a sensor layer of two-dimensional matrix of sensor elements and a parallely opposite support surface on which the finger can be rolled, the distance between the sensor layer and the support surface is less than five times the mean distance between adjacent sensor elements. A light source with lighting elements that can be controlled individually or in groups to generate light portions through the support surface as visible patterns for user information with spatial and temporal reference to the rolling finger. An electronic control unit controls the light source in different areas of the support surface to generate a pattern variable over time.

Device and method for the direct recording of prints of rolled fingers

A 3D image analyzer for the determination of a gaze direction or a line of sight (having a gaze direction vector and a location vector, which e.g. indicates the pupil midpoint and where the gaze direction vector starts) in a 3D room is configured to receive one first set of image data and a further set of image information, wherein the first image contains a pattern, which displays a three-dimensional object from a first perspective into a first image plane, and wherein the further set contains an image having a pattern, which displays the same three-dimensional object from a further perspective into a further image plane, or wherein the further set has an image information and/or a relation between at least two points in the first image and/or at least a position information. The 3D image analyzer has a position calculator and an alignment calculator and calculates therewith a gaze direction in a 3D room.

3D image analyzer for determining the gaze direction

A 2D image analyzer includes an image scaler, an image generator and a pattern finder. The image scaler is configured to scale an image according to a scaling factor. The image generator is configured to produce an overview image including a plurality of copies of the received and scaled image, wherein every copy is scaled about a different scaling factor. Thereby, the respective position can be calculable by an algorithm, which considers a gap between the scaled images in the overview image, a gap of the scaled image towards one or more borders of the overview image and/or other predefined conditions. The pattern finder is configured to perform a feature transformation and classification of the overview image in order to output a position at which an accordance of the searched pattern and the predetermined pattern is maximal. A post-processing unit for smoothening and correcting the position of local maxima in the classified overview image may also be provided.
