An eartip includes a first portion that defines a cavity for receiving an earbud and an aperture. The eartip also includes a second portion that overlies the aperture and is formed of an electrically conductive material. An electrically conductive plug has a first end disposed within the aperture and a second end is coupled to the second portion to provide an electrically conductive path between the second portion and the cavity.

A relaxation mask includes: a main body that defines a pair of eye cavities; and a light diffuser. The light diffuser includes a first lens that is disposed within a first one of the eye cavities. A first ledge is disposed along a top edge of the first lens and extends outwardly therefrom. A first light emitting component is supported on the first ledge and is configured to fire downward into the first lens.

Aspects of the present disclosure provide a smart relaxation mask configured to output a stimulus and collect biometric information while the stimulus is output to determine if the subject is paying attention to the stimulus. If the subject is not focused on the stimulus, the mask adjusts at least one of an audio, visual, or haptic output. The stimulus is adjusted in an effort to shift the subject's attention to the stimulus and away from racing thoughts.

The technology described in this document can be embodied in a method of using a silver-zinc rechargeable battery to power a device. The method includes drawing, in a first mode of operation of a power management circuit, a first current from the battery to power the device. The first current is selected such that a target percentage of a capacity of the battery is discharged in a predetermined time of use of the device. The method also includes switching to a second mode of operation after the target percentage of the capacity of the battery is discharged. In the second mode of operation, a second current is drawn from the battery, wherein the second current is less than the first current. The method further includes powering the device using the second current.

An ear tip for an earphone includes an interior mating surface for attaching the ear tip to the earphone, the interior mating surface at least partially surrounding a cavity where the earphone will be located when the ear tip may be so attached, an outer surface including features corresponding to human ear anatomy, a nozzle extension providing a passageway from the interior cavity to space outside the ear tip, a wax guard in the nozzle extension, the wax guard blocking the passageway, and a plurality of holes through the wax guard, the holes sized and arranged to allow sound to pass along the passageway, while inhibiting ear wax from passing along the passageway.

A system for masking audio signals includes a microphone for generating an ambient audio signal representing ambient noise, a speaker for rendering masking audio, and a processor in communication with the microphone and the speaker. The present teachings disclose methods and apparatuses for an intelligent, wireless earplug system comprising a speaker, an earplug, an electronics base, and a cable. The earplug fits into a user's ear canal and is operatively connected to a smart device, such as a smart phone, to intelligently transmit sounds from the smart device to the earplugs in a manner selected by the user, such as for example transmitting binaural beats to the earplugs to facilitate sleep.

An earphone includes a housing enclosing an acoustic transducer and having a front volume. The housing includes a nozzle that extends the front volume to at least an entrance of a wearer's ear canal, and a groove in an outer surface of the housing, extending at least along a length of the nozzle. A flexible ear tip is configured to attach to the housing. When the flexible ear tip attaches to the housing, the groove and a portion of an inner surface of the ear tip together form a port that acoustically couples the front volume with an environment external to the earphone.

A system includes an earphone having an earplug, a processor, a wireless interface, a battery, a memory, and a speaker, and an electronic device separate from the earphone and in communication with the earphone via the wireless interface. The electronic device transmits audio to the earphone for storage in the memory. The processor of the earphone causes the speakers to play the audio stored in the memory in a loop. The electronic device and the processor of the earphone do not operate the wireless interface continuously after the audio is stored in the memory.
