An indoor air quality control system may be implemented to control a plurality of air handling units within an industrial facility in a concerted effort to effect an overall air quality goal. A remote server analyzes sensor data, historical data, and other environmental data (e.g., predicted weather data), and uses one or more machine learning algorithms to model the behavior of air within the facility. The sensed air quality data is considered holistically to understand the overall condition of the facility and the gradient of air flows and/or contaminant flows within the 3-dimensional space. Air handling models are applied to current sensor data to generate instructions to selectively turn on/off or otherwise control components of various air handling equipment to reach an optimized air quality result. Decisions on how to control the facility are based on environmental health and safety considerations.

Machine learning systems for modeling and balancing the activity of air quality devices in industrial applications

A monitoring system for a facility can automatically determine the presence of leaks in a compressed gas system at the facility. The monitoring system can use information from sensors in the compressed gas system to determine if there is a constant flow of gas in the system that can be indicative of a leak in the system. The monitoring system can process flow measurements from the sensors to determine minimum gas flow amounts for a series of time windows. The minimum gas flow amounts are then averaged to generate an average minimum gas flow amount. If the average minimum gas flow amount is greater than an average threshold, a variance of the minimum gas flow amounts can be determined. If the determined variance is less than a variance threshold, the average minimum gas flow amount is determined to correspond to a leak in the compressed gas system.

Systems and methods for detecting leaks in a compressed gas system

A control system for a facility can automatically control lighting conditions in an area of a facility to prevent the accidental turning off of lights in the area while machines or equipment are operating in the area. The control system can use information from a compressed air system that provides compressed air to the machines in the area to determine if the machines are presently being used in the area. If the machines are being used, the control system can control the lighting conditions in the area to provide a appropriate level of lighting. If the machines are not being used in the area, the control system can control the lighting conditions in the area based on one or more occupancy sensors used to determine if a person is located in the area.

Systems and methods for controlling lighting conditions in a manufacturing environment

The present disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for enabling leaf isolation in a multi-node tree network. In one exemplary embodiment, an Ethernet virtual network (EVC) system has a multi-node E-Tree network comprising a plurality of nodes (e.g., switches), including at least one ingress node and at least one egress node. The ingress node is configured to receive a data packet to be communicated through the E-Tree network and to modify a field, such as the tag protocol identifier (TPID), in the packet's header to indicate whether the data packet is received by the ingress node via a leaf port. As the data packet is communicated through the E-Tree network, the nodes determine the leaf status of the packet based on the modified field thereby enabling the nodes to enforce leaf isolation rules. The egress node upon receiving the packet is configured to adjust the modified field as appropriate such that the field on egress matches the field on ingress. Accordingly, the use of the field as a leaf indicator in the E-Tree network should not affect the ability of downstream components to properly handle the data packet.

Systems and methods for enabling leaf isolation in a multi-node tree network

Embodiments of the present disclosure generally pertain to systems and methods for controlling multicast bandwidth. A communication system in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure comprises a network access device (NAD) having bandwidth (BW) expansion logic. The BW expansion logic is configured to automatically calculate the expansion ratio for a multicast stream based on various network parameters, such as layer 1 and 2 information, network packet size, and network transmission rate. Based on the expansion ratio, the BW expansion logic determines the actual transmission rate for transmitting the multicast stream across a subscriber link. The NAD then accepts or rejects join requests based on whether the sum of the current allocated link rate and the actual transmission rate exceed a rate threshold for the link.

Systems and methods for detecting and controlling multicast bandwidth

A system for provisioning virtual circuit information in packet has a plurality of access modules that are inserted into slots of a chassis at a network facility. Each access module is provisioned with sets of Ethernet virtual circuit (EVC) attribute data in order to provide the access module with sufficient information to handle data packets carried by EVCs serviced by the access module. Rather than manually provisioning each access module with EVC attribute data, the sets of attribute data are stored at a central location. Each access module has logic that is configured to automatically retrieve, from the central location, sets of attribute data associated with the EVCs to be serviced by the access module. The logic then automatically provisions the access module to handle data packets carried by such EVCs.

Systems and methods for centrally provisioning virtual circuit information

A plurality of access modules are inserted into slots of a chassis at a network facility. Each access module is provisioned with sets of Ethernet virtual circuit (EVC) attribute data in order to provide the access module with sufficient information to handle data packets carried by EVCs serviced by the access module. Rather than manually provisioning each access module with EVC attribute data, the sets of attribute data are stored at a central location. Each access module is configured to automatically request, from the central location, sets of attribute data associated with the EVCs to be serviced by the access module and to then automatically provision the access module to handle data packets carried by such EVCs. For each requested set of attribute data, the requesting access modules ensures that the attribute data is reliably transported across a backplane of the chassis.
