A computer-implemented method of establishing influence relationships between data in a question-answering environment is disclosed. Establishing influence relationships can include determining a set of conditions indicating a set of user statuses and analyzing, using a first natural language processing technique, a corpus of data including a set of user data. Establishing influence relationships between data can include identifying, based on analyzing the corpus of data, a set of influence factors corresponding to a subset of the set of user data and to a subset of the set of conditions. In embodiments, establishing influence relationships can include establishing, based on the set of influence factors, a set of influence relationships between the subset of the set of user data and the subset of the set of conditions.

Data relationships in a question-answering environment

A method, system, and computer program product are provided for selectively discarding packets in a network device. The method includes receiving an upstream bandwidth saturation indicator for a queue in the network device, and identifying one or more codecs employed in packets in the queue when the upstream bandwidth saturation indicator indicates saturation. The method further includes determining a packet discarding policy based on the one or more codecs, and discarding packets in accordance with the packet discarding policy.

Methods, systems, and computer program products for selectively discarding packets

A method, apparatus and article of manufacture for allocating use of an access device between a host operating system and a guest operating system. In one embodiment, a source of the received request to use the access device is determined as either the host operating system or the guest operating system. A determination of whether the host or guest operating system has a key for the access device is performed. The key enables either the host operating system or the guest operating system to use the access device. A determination of whether the received request is an altering request to change a state of the access device or a passive request to read the access device is also performed. The processing of the request from the host and guest operating systems is similar except when the request is an altering request and neither the host operating system nor the guest operating system has the key. In this case, the request from the host operating system is passed and the request from the guest operating system is rejected.
