Unloader for a compressor, said unloader () comprising a housing () with an inlet () and an outlet (), and whereby the unloader () is further provided with a piston rod () which is arranged moveably in a reciprocating manner in the housing (), whereby on one end () of the piston rod () a valve () is provided to be able to close the outlet () and whereby on the other end () of the piston rod () a piston () is arranged, the piston being arranged moveably in a reciprocating manner in a thereto provided cavity () of the unloader (), said cavity () being at least partially delimited by a lid () which is provided on the housing () and which is also part of the unloader (), whereby sealing means () are provided for the leakage-free movement of the piston () in said cavity (), whereby the cavity () in which the piston () is arranged moveably in a reciprocating manner is provided at least partially in the lid ().
