Embodiments of sampling techniques for server farms are described herein. In an implementation, the sampling techniques may be performed to find a range of values, in which, a quality of service measurement belongs. Each range is thought of as a 'bucket' and may include a corresponding counter that is incremented for each quality of service measurement that falls within the bucket. The countes may then be converted into measurement curves which are published at periodic intervals for examination.

Data items contained in personal information are displayed in manner that is indicative of both the importance and the urgency of the data items. A first visual cue is assigned to the data item based on an importance of the data item. The first visual cue may cause more important items to be displayed with increased size and less important items to be displayed with decreased size. A second visual cue is assigned to the data item based on an urgency of the data item. The second visual cue may cause more urgent items to be displayed in a first color and less important items to be displayed in a second color. The data item is displayed using the first and second visual cue as to provide a visual indication as to both the importance and urgency of the data item.

A method for automatically exchanging computer data is disclosed. The method includes the step of first generating a data file with a markup language in accordance with a predetermined schema. The schema is agreed upon by the source and destination location. Next, a software envelope containing the data file is generated. The software envelope is transmitted to the destination location. At the destination location, an object is created from the data file with a plugin object corresponding to the predetermined schema.

Automatic business software application is provided. Aspects of business, including objects and activities are classified and described in a comprehensive, standard manner. When a business software component is installed, a discovery manager identifies capabilities and requirements of the software based upon information describing the software in accordance with the standardized classification. The software component is selectively bound to one or more roles of a model-driven bus. In some aspects, a standardized software adapter is able to facilitate use of embodiments of the present invention with prior art software systems. Additional software layers and overhead facilitate the management and operation of multiple software components.
