A workflow development system is described that enables users to easily develop and deploy bots. The system provides a graphical user interface (GUI) that enables a user to select a plurality of steps for inclusion in a workflow and within which each user-selected step is represented as an interactive object. The plurality of steps includes at least one step of receiving a message directed to a bot or sending a message on behalf of the bot and at least one step of invoking an application to perform an action in response to receiving the message directed to the bot or to receive information upon which the sending of the message on behalf of the bot will be based. The system also receives information about each of the user-selected steps included in the workflow and generates workflow logic based on the received information that is executable to run the workflow.

Bot creation with workflow development system

Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for developing, debugging, and growing workflows. Embodiments enable the developer to test the workflow in place in a workflow designer that displays input/output parameter values for each workflow step during the test run. The developer is enabled to toggle the workflow step(s) between a development mode, where the developer may edit input parameter values, and a test mode, where the developer is displayed (but cannot edit) the input parameter values and is displayed the output parameter values at each workflow step. A record of workflow runs of a workflow is also maintained. The developer is also enabled to transition a workflow from being a business application to a robust software application having additional functionality. The workflow logic generated is transported between a visual workflow designer and a full-blown code editor.

Debugging a flow

A cloud-based storage service hosts content information that may be accessed by client machines in a peer-to-peer network. The content information is a compact representation of the content which is stored outside of the cloud-based storage service. The cloud-based storage service generates the content information and a content information hash. The content information hash is used to validate the content information when the content information is downloaded to the peer-to-peer network. The cloud-based storage service also generates metadata that describes the content information so that a client machine in the peer-to-peer network may access the content information from the cloud-based storage service.
