The present invention relates to a method for communicating data acoustically. The method includes segmenting the data into a sequence of symbols; encoding each symbol of the sequence into a plurality of tones; and acoustically generating the plurality of tones simultaneously for each symbol in sequence. Each of the plurality of tones for each symbol in the sequence may be at a different frequency.

Method and system for improved acoustic transmission of data

Generative media content (e.g., generative audio) can be played back across multiple playback devices concurrently. A coordinator device can receive a multi-channel stream of media content, with at least some channels comprising generative media content. The coordinator device transmits each of the channels to a plurality of playback devices. A first playback device plays back a first subset of the channels according to first playback responsibilities and a second playback device plays back a second subset of the channels according to second playback responsibilities. The first and/or second playback responsibilities can be dynamically modified over time, for example in response to one or more input parameters.

Method and system for acoustic communication of data

Turntable control systems are disclosed. A playback device can include an analog audio source component such as a turntable. The playback device is configured to cause playback of first audio based on analog audio signals generated by the analog audio source component. Based on an indication that analog audio signals are no longer being generated, the playback device requests, via a network interface, audio content from one or more remote computing devices. The request can include identifying related content based on the first audio. The playback device receives, via the network interface, second audio content from, and causes playback of second audio based on the second audio content.

Systems and methods for coordinated playback of analog and digital media content

Embodiments disclosed herein include playback devices configured to operate in one or more playback configurations including configurations individual playback devices play back one or more corresponding channels of multichannel audio content. An audio parameter can be determined based on a distance between playback devices. In some examples, the audio parameter comprises a filter such as a low frequency filter that varies based on at least the distance between the playback devices. After the audio parameter is determined, the playback devices can play back audio content according to the determined audio parameter.

The present invention relates to a method for authenticating a device with a wireless access point. The method includes receiving an audio signal at the device via a microphone; processing the audio signal to extract a code; using the code to authenticate the device, at least to part, with the wireless access point; and in response to the authentication, providing access to one or more network services to the device via the wireless access point A system and software are also disclosed.

The example further comprises, based on the time-frequency representation of the audio signal and the data, determining that the audio signal comprises a superposition of a first audio signal transmitted by a first playback device and a second audio signal transmitted by a second playback device.

Data communication system

Generative media content (e.g., generative audio) can be played back across multiple playback devices concurrently. A generative content group coordinator device can receive input parameters, which can include sensor data, media content, or other such input. The coordinator device can generate first and second generative media content streams, each of which can be transmitted to first and second playback devices, respectively. The first and second playback devices can play back the first and second streams of generative media content concurrently.
