An automatic mechanical spool changer for 3-D printers includes a filament guide and a pre-loading device. The input to the filament guide receives at least a primary filament from a primary spool and a secondary filament from a secondary spool. The output from the filament guide connects to an extruder, and the output from the filament guide sequentially and automatically provides the primary filament and then the secondary filament to the extruder. The pre-loading device exerts a pre-loaded force on the secondary filament during the extrusion of the primary filament. After the primary filament passes a predetermined location within the filament guide, the force exerted on the secondary filament threads the secondary filament through the output of the filament guide and into the extruder.

Automatic mechanical spool changer for 3-D printers

An adjustable level 3-D printing platform includes a platform, three support posts, and an adjusting component by which heights of the three support posts are adjustable. The bottom of the build platform includes at least one socket to engage with a ball end of one of the three support posts, thereby enabling two point leveling. The adjusting component is configured to simultaneously adjust a height of the at least three support posts using a first arm and a second arm, each connected to the build platform at respective pivot points and configured to apply respective clamping forces to the support posts. The printing platform further includes at least one sensor leveling system that deploys a probe, measures a relative probe state, and compares the measurement to a predetermined value. During the leveling processes, the 3-D printer is configured to provide sensory feedback.

A dust collection system for a rotary power tool, which has a flexible shaft connected to a handpiece, includes a vacuum blower configured to generate a negative pressure and a connecting hose defining a first void region fluidly connected to the blower and which has the negative pressure. The connecting hose is configured to extend along a first length of the flexible shaft. The dust collection system further comprises a nozzle portion defining a second void region fluidly connected to the first void region and which has the negative pressure, the nozzle portion being configured to extend along a second length of the handpiece.

A power tool includes a housing, an output shaft, and a tool holder connected to the output shaft. A rotor assembly is attached to the output shaft that is configured to be acted on by a fluid flow through the housing to cause rotation of the output shaft. A centrifugally movable fluid flow governor is coupled to the output shaft that is configured to move outwardly from the output shaft to alter a force acting on the rotor assembly when the output shaft reaches a predetermined speed.

A power tool includes a variable speed motor coupled to a drive member. A power circuit electrically connects the variable speed motor to a power source. A variable speed signal generator generates a variable speed control signal indicating an operating speed for the motor. The operating speed is dependent upon a value of a variable speed selection signal generated by a slide switch. The slide switch includes a linear slide potentiometer for generating the variable speed selection signal. An actuator slides along the potentiometer to control the value of the selection signal. The slide switch includes an ON/OFF contact and a lever arm that is movable into and out of contact with the ON/OFF contact. The actuator is configured to prevent the lever arm from contacting the ON/OFF contact when the actuator is in an OFF position in relation to the slide potentiometer thereby opening the power circuit.
