A guideway illumination system () comprises a first member () and a second member () each having at least one light source () and at least one of the first member () and the second member () receiving a power source (). The first member () has a closed end () and a connecting end () and the second member has two connecting ends (). At least one intermediate member () has at least one light source () and a male connecting end () and a female connecting end ().
