A fastening device comprising a cam lock is received within a first orifice of a first component and a threaded fastener extending through a central axial cavity provided in the cam lock is received within a second orifice of a second component. A cam surface on the cam lock induces a clamping load between the first and the second components normal to the axial cavity when rotated from a first to a second rotational position.

A lock for a pivoting member in a vehicle comprising: a button having a depressed position and an undepressed position; a cam abutting the button having a rotated position and an un-rotated position; and a rod operably connected to the cam having an extended position and a retracted position; wherein, when the button is in the depressed position, the cam is in the rotated position, and the rod is in the retracted position. The pivoting member can be an armrest or a seatback, among other things. The rod includes a first grooved section. The cam includes a first finger adjacent to the first grooved section. As the cam transitions from the un-rotated position to the rotated position, the first finger of the cam interacts with the first grooved section of the rod to cause the rod to transition from the extended position to the retracted position.

A plurality of downwardly-extending connection members are integral with and extend from a bottom surface of the cushion pan. A vehicle comprises: a first seating assembly including a seat, a seatback, and a midline defining an outboard direction directed away from the midline, and an inboard direction directed toward the midline; the seatback comprising a trim carrier interconnected with a closeout panel through a snap-fit connection; wherein, the snap-fit connection resists disconnection of the trim carrier from the closeout panel when a force is applied to the trim carrier from the outboard direction of the snap-fit connection to a greater degree than when a force is applied to the trim carrier from the inboard direction of the snap-fit connection. A grommet attached to the trim carrier can provide the snap-fit connection between the trim carrier and the closeout panel.

A seating assembly includes a seatback frame having first and second pivot apertures defined on an inside surface of first and second side members, respectively, of the seatback frame. A seat includes a cushion assembly supported on a polymeric seat storage lid having a rear vertical wall and a forward lateral body. First and second metal pivot pins extend from first and second sides of the rear vertical wall of the seat storage lid and engage such that a seat is operable between open and closed positions.
