A mower-conditioner implement is equipped with a rotary disc cutter bar and associated with the cutter bar are a plurality of crop-lifting units that cooperate to define an upright lip that works together with transversely spaced ramp sections, of the respective lifting units, that incline downwardly to the front from transversely spaced locations along the top of the lip for lifting and directing cut crop to the conditioner. In one embodiment, the crop-lifting units are releasably coupled to the cutter bar, and, in a second embodiment, are formed integrally with the cutter bar.

A steam injection manifold assembly is mounted to a crop pick-up assembly and is provided with an elongate manifold disposed lengthwise of the pick-up assembly. A plurality of steam injection tubes are releasably mounted to the manifold to receive steam exiting through respective steam outlet openings provided in the manifold. In one embodiment the injection tubes are shaped similarly to tine stripper bands of the pick-up, and in another embodiment the injection tubes define the stripper bands of the pick-up.

A baler is equipped with a crop re-hydration system including a steam injection manifold mounted for discharging steam onto a windrow of crop as the windrow is being fed into the baler. The steam injection manifold has a steam discharge orifice arrangement which can be adjusted to vary the discharge width. A flexible duct guides discharged steam to the crop windrow.

A mowing implement is equipped with a rotary cutter bar and utilizes right- and left-hand sets of converging drums to aid those cutting discs located outboard of opposite sides of a discharge zone to converge crop to the discharge zone. The inner two of each of the sets of converging drums are identical and have inverted bowl shaped lower end plates having conical surfaces which aid in lifting crop. The insides of the bowl-shaped converging drum end plates form voids, which together with flat horizontal ejector plates, mounted on respective cutter discs for sweeping beneath the inner two of each set of converging drums, keep crop from packing beneath these converging drums. Associated with each of the innermost ones of the inner pair of converging drums is a guide element defining a horizontal shelf located for guiding crop, elevated by the conical surfaces of the lower ends of the inner most converging drums, to the discharge passage. Crop that passes beneath the shelves is guided to locations of the discharge passage inward of respective side walls bordering the discharge passage by respective legs depending from the back sides of the shelves.

An external combustion engine burns a mixture of fuel and air to produce work. The engine contains at least one power cylinder, a compression cylinder for each power cylinder, and a moving combustion housing with a plurality of combustion chambers for each power cylinder. Each combustion chamber has a constant volume and cyclically: (1) establishes communication with a compression cylinder to receive compressed air; (2) terminates communication with the compression cylinder; (3) receives sufficient fuel from the fuel injector to create a combustible mixture of fuel and air; (4) contains the ignition of the combustible mixture of fuel and air; (5) establishes communication with a power cylinder to discharge the ignited mixture of fuel and air into the power cylinder; and (6) terminates communication with the power cylinder.

Separate process engine

A combination switch and socket is provided that can be easily installed without rewiring an existing fixture to give the user a closet light that automatically turns on when the closet door is opened and turns off when the door is closed. The socket can be screwed into an existing light fixture and the switch can be mounted near the door by merely attaching a bracket adjacent the door. Then, wires connecting the socket and switch can be placed where desired and even attached along the ceiling out of the way in a conventional conduit.
