Systems for providing on-demand cup printing and dispensing for food service are provided herein. A cup dispenser includes a cup source configured to hold a stack of cups and one or more cup-moving elements configured to cause a cup from the stack of cups to move through the cup dispenser. The cup dispenser includes a motor configured to operate the one or more cup-moving elements to cause the cup to move through the cup dispenser along a path. The cup dispenser also includes a printer configured to print at least one of order information or personalization information on the cup that is based on the food service order associated with the cup. The cup dispenser further includes a dispensing section that provides the cup, which includes the at least one of order information or personalization information printed thereon.

Food service cup dispensers, systems, and methods

Systems for providing on-demand food service material printing for food service are provided herein. A food service material dispenser comprises a roll holder configured to hold a roll of food service material, one or more rollers, and a motor configured to operate to translate the food service material along a path within the dispenser. The dispenser includes a cutting arrangement configured to perform a cut of the food service material to form the sheet of food service material that defines a size associated with a food service order. The dispenser also includes a printer configured to print at least one of order information or personalization information on the food service material that is based on the associated food service order. The dispenser further includes a chute configured to dispense the sheet of food service material, which includes the at least one of order information or personalization information printed thereon.

Food service material dispensers, systems, and methods

A method of moist creping absorbent paper base sheet includes forming a nascent web including at least a major portion of flattened ribbonlike cellulosic fibers of recycled fiber. A creping adhesive coating including an admixture of polyvinyl alcohol and a polyamide crosslinked with epichlorohydrin is applied to a Yankee dryer. The nascent web is passed through a nip, defined between a suction pressure roll and the Yankee dryer, having a controlled loading. The nascent web is adhered to the Yankee dryer and dried on the Yankee dryer to a moisture content corresponding to a sheet temperature, immediately prior to the creping blade, of from about 110&#xb0; C. to about 121&#xb0; C. The nascent web is creped at a sheet temperature of from about 110&#xb0; C. to about 121&#xb0; C. from the Yankee dryer with an undulatory creping blade bearing against the Yankee dryer to form a moist biaxially undulatory web, which is dried.

A method of dispensing product includes determining by a processor if product loaded into a dispenser is authorized for use in the dispenser by identifying a reference indication associated with the product; in response to determination that the product is authorized, dispense a first amount of product; and in response to determination that the sheet product is unauthorized, dispense a second amount of sheet product, wherein the second amount of sheet product is different than the first amount. To determine if the sheet product is authorized, a pigment is excited to emit a light with an intensity signature. A portion of the intensity signature is measured and compared to a desired value. If the portion is substantially equal to the desired value, the sheet product is authenticated.

Product, dispenser and method of dispensing product

A dispenser for dispensing sheet product from a supply to a user is disclosed. The dispenser includes a feed device for dispensing a length of sheet product, an energy storage device in operable communication with the feed device, and a user interface in operable communication with the energy storage device. The user interface is biased in a first direction to a rest position by the energy storage device and is responsive to energy from the user to move in a second direction opposite the first direction and transfer energy to the energy storage device. The energy storage device is in operable connection with the feed device and applies the transferred energy to generate motion of the user interface in the first direction toward the rest position to actuate the feed device and dispense the sheet product.

In one embodiment, a power system for a plurality of dispensers comprises an AC transformer to receive a line voltage and generate an output voltage of about 2 volts AC to about 50 volts AC; a plurality of dispensers, each housing at least one electrical component operatively configured to dispense product through a dispensing aperture, each of the dispensers comprising a battery compartment; and a plurality of power converters adapted to be at least partially disposed within the battery compartments such that at least one power converter is associated with each dispenser, the converters disposed in communication with the AC transformer such that the power converters receive the output voltage and provide a DC voltage to one or more electrical components housed within the dispensers.

A dispenser for dispensing sheet product includes a housing, a proximity sensor operative to detect a presence of a user's hand at a predetermined location near the dispenser, and a dispensing mechanism disposed within the housing, the dispensing mechanism including an electronic controller operably coupled to a drive motor that is operably coupled to a feed roller to dispense the sheet product. The dispensing mechanism is operative in a first mode to be responsive to a signal from the proximity sensor to dispense the sheet product, and is operative in a second mode to dispense a next sheet product in response to an existing sheet product being torn from the dispenser. The controller is responsive to a switch adapted and configured to set an adjustable time delay between sheet feeds when the dispensing mechanism is operating in at least one of the first mode and the second mode.

A curl reducing adapter kit for a napkin dispenser used for dispensing interfolded napkins including an enclosure with a dispensing wall defining a dispensing slot and a slidably mounted, biased pressure carriage adapted to advance a stack of napkins in the enclosure toward the dispensing wall includes a tongue for mounting about the dispensing wall such that the tongue projects into the dispensing slot and narrows the slot. The tongue further includes a plurality of friction tabs configured to project inwardly into the enclosure from the upper inner lip of the dispensing slot and frictionally engage the napkins to limit bulge through the slot. A plurality of orienting ridges are configured to be disposed about a lower portion of the dispensing wall and are adapted to frictionally engage the napkin stack to guide the stack and reduce curl while a plurality of curl limiting tabs are configured to be disposed about the lower inner lip of the dispensing slot and project inwardly into the enclosure so as to frictionally engage the stack of napkins and further limit curl. A napkin dispenser having the foregoing features may likewise be constructed incorporating the features without the need for an adapter kit.

An insulating container comprising a container body having at least one side wall and a bottom wall with the side wall including a base layer, an insulating layer on at least a portion of the base layer and a printed pattern, mineral oil application or combination thereof on at least a portion of the surface of the insulating layer is disclosed wherein a thickness of the insulating layer is controlled by the printed pattern and/or mineral oil on the selected portion of the insulating layer. Similarly, stock material incorporating the present invention includes a base layer, an insulating layer formed on at least a portion of the base layer and a printed pattern printed on and or mineral oil applied to the insulating layer is disclosed wherein the thickness of the insulating layer is again controlled by the printed pattern and/or mineral oil on the portion of the insulating layer. The container may be formed of pre-manufactured stock material, by unexpanded stock material or by forming a container body from a paper or paperboard material including a bottom wall and at least one side wall, coating at least the side wall portion of the container body with a thermoplastic synthetic resin film and subsequently printing a pattern on the surface of the thermoplastic synthetic resin film. Once formed, the container is heated at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time period sufficient to form a heat-insulating layer on the outer surface of the container by expanding the thermoplastic synthetic resin film. The expansion of the thermoplastic synthetic resin is controlled by a thickness of the printed pattern placed thereon, the mineral oil coating or a combination thereof.

Insulated stock material and containers and methods of making the same

A lid for use on a cup having a radially outwardly projecting non-helical brim extending around a mouth thereof. The lid is formed of plastic and comprises a center portion, and a flexible skirt extending downwardly from an outer periphery of the center portion. The skirt includes a radially inwardly projecting annular restriction ring adapted to be positioned beneath the cup brim. The skirt includes a plurality of threads spaced apart circumferentially around the skirt. Each thread extends generally helically upwardly from a location disposed between the restriction ring and a bottom edge of the skirt. The threads intersect the restriction ring to form circumferentially spaced caesurae in the restriction ring.
