The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for retrieving telematics data. A method for retrieving telematics data may comprise operating at least one processor to: provide a plurality of databases, each database storing at least telematics data originating from a plurality of telematics devices installed in a plurality of vehicles; receive a natural language request from a user; generate, using a large language model (LLM) that does not have access to the plurality of databases, an executable query for retrieving a portion of the telematics data that is responsive to the natural language request from the database by inputting into the LLM at least: a contextual prompt, and the natural language request; execute the executable query; and return at least the portion of the telematics data to the user.

Described herein are examples of a system that processes information describing movement of a vehicle at a time related to a potential collision to reliably determine whether a collision occurred and/or one or more characteristics of the collision. In response to obtaining information regarding a potential collision, data describing movement of the vehicle before and/or after a time associated with the potential collision is analyzed to determine whether the collision occurred and/or to determine one or more collision characteristic(s). The analysis may be carried out at least in part using a trained classifier that classifies the vehicle movement data into one or more classes, where at least some the classes are associated with whether a collision occurred and/or one or more characteristics of a collision. If a collision is determined to be likely, one or more actions may be triggered based on the characteristic(s) of the collision.

Characterizing a vehicle collision

Systems and methods for determining an estimated weight of a vehicle are provided. The system includes at least one data storage and at least one processor. The at least one data storage is configured to store vehicle data associated with the vehicle. The at least one processor is configured to: identify a plurality of vehicle maneuvers based on the vehicle data, each vehicle maneuver being associated with a portion of the vehicle data, each portion of the vehicle data comprising a measured torque profile; generate a plurality of simulated torque profiles for each vehicle maneuver; generate a plurality of error profiles, an error profile being generated for each vehicle maneuver based on differences between the plurality of simulated torque profiles and the measured torque profile corresponding to that vehicle maneuver; and determine the estimated weight of the vehicle based on the plurality of error profiles.

Vehicle batteries, as well as other components of a vehicle electrical system, tend to degrade over time, and eventually fail.
