An exemplary supporting audio element for a furniture item may include a control circuit positioned within a body portion, a supporting leg, and a loudspeaker. The supporting audio element may be mounted to a furniture item, for supporting the furniture item, and configured for one or more of, without limitation, communicating with an external audio device, playing audio, controlling a function of the furniture item, voice recognition, and voice control. An exemplary supporting audio element may include a microphone connected to a phonetic recognition module, for receiving and recognizing voice commands and relaying the voice commands to the control circuit for controlling a function of the supporting audio leg and the furniture item. A furniture item may include an exemplary supporting audio element for incorporating the features thereof.

A motorized furniture assembly having seat and back support sections moves between sofa and bed positions relative to a stationary frame by activation of two motorized drive assemblies. The motorized drive assemblies move seat support brackets of a seat section forward and backward relative to the stationary frame. Movement of the seat section moves a back support section between horizontal and raised positions. Two linkage assemblies control movement of the motorized furniture assembly between the sofa and bed positions upon actuation of said at least one actuator for activating the motorized drive assemblies.

The present invention is directed to a furniture item having user-support frames that are convertible between a seat configuration and a bed configuration. In one embodiment, user-support frames include a head-support frame anchored by a link assembly to a furniture-item base and a back-support frame pivotably coupled to the head-support frame. The link assembly facilitates both pivoting and lateral shifting of the head-support frame relative to the furniture-item base. In the bed configuration, a cam and cam follower are disposed under the user-support frames, such that when the user-support frames laterally shift, the cam contacts the cam follower, thereby upwardly moving a junction at which user-support frames are hinged to one another.

A nestably stackable bedding foundation assembly replaces the traditional border wire and disposed coil spring foundation assembly in a so-called box spring. The foundation assembly may be nestably stacked with numerous other such assemblies for transportation, thereby avoiding the need to compress and tie the assembly for shipping. Each foundation assembly includes a number of corrugated support wires having alternating peaks and valleys. The valleys of selected support wires are twisted relative to their associated peaks to provide a more stable mounting to a base and offer a variety of firmness to specific zones of the assembly.
