An attachment to a mobility aid, such as a walker, wheeled walker or rollator, or wheelchair that automatically positions a slip resistant surface under the foot of the user. Cleats or a cleat head with retractable cleats are attached to the slip resistant surface. The distance the slip resistant surface is from the mobility aid is adjustable to suit the user. A retractable slip resistant surface attachment is removably attached to sides of the mobility aid. A sliding channel bracket is slidably attached to an attachment panel permitting the sliding channel bracket to be adjusted longitudinally. A slip resist surface is moved freely back and forth with a retraction mechanism. Adjustable, secure footing is obtained on wet or slippery surfaces preventing falls.

A slide panel with slide members captured by the sliding channel bracket permits an attached slip resist surface to move freely back and forth with a retraction mechanism. Adjustable, secure footing is obtained on wet or slippery surfaces preventing falls.

Adjustable slip resistant walking surface for use with a mobility aid

Slip resistant walking surface for use with a mobility aid

Devices and methods for measuring roller chain wear are provided. A roller chain wear gauge may include an elongated structure configured to be inserted into a gap between two roller links of a chain joined by a pin link of the chain, the chain having an associated chain size. The elongated structure may include a first side surface, a second side surface, a length extending along a longitudinal axis of the elongated structure, and a plurality of widths located along the length and defined by and between the first and second side surfaces. The first side surface may extend at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis such that the plurality of widths continuously tapers over the length. The plurality of widths may be calibrated against a reference chain representative of the associated chain size.

Roller chain wear gauge

An attachment to a walker that automatically positions a slip resistant surface under the foot of the user. Side-by-side slip resistant surfaces are attached to a walker. A retraction mechanism biases each of the slip resistant surfaces towards the walker. Upon stepping on one of the slip resistant surfaces and advancing the walker the retraction mechanism is extended. When taking a step removing pressure from the slip resistant surface, the slip resistant surface moves towards the walker positioned for receiving the user's foot during another step. Secure footing is obtained on wet or slippery surfaces preventing falls. The attachment is easily folded and closed to be positioned out of the way or removed for storage.

Vertical conveyor device for various sized payloads

A signal sampling circuit receives a clock signal indicative of a sampling rate and a periodic input signal to produce a digitized sampled output signal. The sampled signal is applied to an all-pass filter having a single pole/zero pair in which the pole/zero values are determined by a number supplied by a number generator. The number generator varies the applied number in a random or pseudorandom fashion to create a correspondingly random or pseudorandom variation of the transfer function of the filter. The filtered sample signal is then further processed by an absolute value operator and an average value operator for application to an amplitude responsive device such as a meter. The random or pseudorandom variation of the filter transfer function introduces a corresponding random or pseudorandom variation of the phase shift imposed upon the sampled signal within the filter. This. phase shift operates to impede or preclude the generation of erroneous beat note amplitude variations within the sampled signal for input signals having frequencies at or near the sampling rate or submultiples thereof.

Periodic signal analyzer using a randomly varied phase shifting circuit

A feeder for shape unstable articles such as pads for absorbing body fluids has an upright hopper having top and bottom openings for receiving and discharging pads. First and second rotationally driven upper pulleys having a plurality of round belt receiving grooves in their peripheries are mounted adjacent the bottom opening of the hopper on opposite sides of the vertical center line of the hopper. Third and fourth idler pulleys are arranged in laterally spaced apart relationship and symmetrical to the center line of the hopper at a lower level than the first and second pulleys. Because the lower pulleys are closer to each other than the upper pulleys, the belts converge toward each other such that articles which settle out of the hopper finally become wedged between the belts proximate to the lower pulleys. A stepping motor is energized to drive the pulleys and translate the belts so that the lowermost article in the stack is dispensed from between the lower pair of pulleys by reason of being frictionally engaged at its edges by the belts on the grooved pulleys. The stepping motor is started at the moment a pad should be dispensed and is stopped in response to the pad dropping across the beam of a photosensor so the feeder is self-timing. Thus, the feeder is self-adjusting for each individual article ranging from a short feed time for a compressed article to a longer feed time for the next article which may not be compressed and, hence, thicker.

Feeder for shape unstable articles

A vertically extending stripper bar is manipulated to strip a stack of articles from a conveyor while the conveyor is carrying the articles downwardly at high speed. A carriage is mounted for being vertically movable. A pneumatic cylinder is coupled to the carriage. The stripper bar is supported on horizontal guide rods which slide in the vertically movable carriage. A pneumatic cylinder moves the stripper bar horizontally in and out relative to the conveyor. When the correct number of articles has accumulated next to the bar, a stripping cycle is initiated. This involves activating one pneumatic cylinder which pushes the stripper bar horizontally across the path of the downwardly moving articles. A gear rack is mounted to the vertically movable carriage and it is engaged by a gear which begins to drive the carriage and stripper bar downwardly at the same speed that the articles are moving downwardly at the instant the stripper bar begins to move horizontally. At the instant when the stripping cycle begins, a clutch is engaged to make the gear drive the carriage downwardly by driving the rack. When the stack of articles is cleared of the paddles, the clutch is disengaged and the gear can turn freely. The pneumatic cylinder which is coupled to the carriage drives the carriage upwardly back to its home position in readiness for stripping the next stack to accumulate.
