One or more keys () can be integrally formed of a card cage and positioned to extend into the card-receiving openings of the card slots that comprise the card cage. The cards can then have key-receiving openings () that accommodate such keys. By matching the keys to particular physical and electrical functionality and compatibility attributes of a given card slot, such key-receiving openings can be similarly shaped and sized to assure that such cards cannot be inadvertently (or purposely) placed in an inappropriate card slot. In varying embodiments, such keys can be formed of a cable trough, a front panel, and a card guide seating surface.

The locking assembly is received in the recessed region, and includes a lock screw and a lock cam. The lock cam includes a first opening and an engaging portion. The engaging portion allows for engagement with the latch.

An apparatus and method for covering an open end of a cable trough mounted in a cabinet for housing electronic devices includes a planar member for covering the opening of the cable trough. The planar member includes a front side, a back side, and an outer edge. The planar member also includes a perforated portion and a perimeter portion. The back side of the planar member includes an adhesive material for securing the planar member to an outer wall of the cabinet. The perforated portion may also include a tab portion to allow for the removal of the perforated portion to allow access to the cable trough.

The body portion includes a plurality of openings spaced along the body portion for receiving cable ties to secure and route cables when the rigid bar is mounted in the second position.

An apparatus and method for covering an opening in a cabinet for housing electronic devices includes a grommet for covering the opening in the cabinet. A plurality of slits are formed in the grommet defining a plurality of flexible tab portions to allow one or more cables to pass through the grommet. The plurality of slits include at least one longitudinally oriented slit and a plurality of transversely oriented slits which intersect the longitudinally oriented slit.

A cable management apparatus includes a cable trough having a body portion. A first side wall portion and a second wall portion each extend along a length of the body portion. The first side wall portion includes a plurality of notches formed therein and spaced along a length of the first side wall portion. A flange portion extends from each of the side wall portions. Each of the flange portions includes a plurality of openings formed therein. An elongated cover includes a plurality of fastening members spaced along a length of the cover. The fastening members are received in the flange openings to fasten the cover to the cable trough and to enclose cables routed within the cable trough while allowing cables to pass through the notches formed in the first side wall portion.

An apparatus for routing cable includes a slide member slidably attached to a mounting member. The mounting member may be attached to a module and/or rack. The slide member includes a cable opening for receiving one or more cables. The slide member may include symmetrical arm portions which border the cable opening to allow the mounting member to be attached to either side of a module or rack. The mounting member may include a module mounting portion at a right angle to a rack mounting portion. The slide member may include a slot with a rivet positioned therein to allow the slide member to extend to an open position and retract to a closed position.
