A sleep surface is formed by joining longitudinal sides of two juxtaposed air bladders, thereby providing a continuous sleep surface having two independently inflatable air chambers. A support member can be inserted between the two independently inflatable air bladders to provide a continuous sleep surface that eliminates vertical displacement of a user.

A bed foundation is provided which is constructed of blow-molded plastic and may be assembled without using tools. The components of the bed foundation all have lengths of less than 60 inches and may be packaged together in a container having a length less than 60 inches and a girth less than 84 inches, so as to avoid shipping penalties. The components are constructed and arranged to allow disassembly and storage when the foundation is not in use. One embodiment provides a bed foundation that, when assembled, has a top panel which overhangs the side rails to permit an oversized mattress to be placed thereon. Additionally, bed legs are provided that are configured to mate with contours in the foundation.

A rigid corner piece for maintaining the square appearance of a mattress having foam sides. The corner piece anchors two of the foam pieces together to form a butt joint. The corner piece is constructed and arranged to be relatively undetectable by a person sitting on the side of the bed. The corner piece preferably defines a groove into which the two foam pieces may be placed at a relatively right angle to each other.

In order to provide additional flexibility in a portable restroom, a base assembly is specifically designed to include an internal tank capable of maintaining and carrying flushing fluid. Thus, when a flushing restroom is desired, an additional tank is not needed. In order to convert to a flushing model, the base assembly is simply filled with appropriate liquid, and a pump is added. In addition to providing additional capabilities, the additional fluid in the base unit provides for more weight, thus increasing the stability. Also, the base assembly has a support structure which can be snap fit to the tank member. By allowing the snap fitting feature, the support structure can be designed very rugged, however will very easily and completely attach to the tank member.
