A syringe is coupled to a biopsy needle through a coupling structure that includes a motor-driven element such as a gear to rotate the needle. The motor can oscillate back and forth to cause the needle to oscillate. Structures are described to permit one-handed operation of the device and automatic motor activation based on attaining a desired plunger position. Non-electric motors are described along with a mechanism for axial oscillation of the needle.

Oscillating syringe system and needle

A drive system for cleaning debris within a medical tube. The drive system includes a housing defining an interior and an elongated guide wire residing at least partially within the interior. A roller is disposed in said interior in frictional engagement with the guide wire, said roller being configured to rotate about an axis. The drive system also includes a motor operable to drive the roller in order to both advance or withdraw said guide wire via said frictional engagement therewith through said inlet.

A method and device for reducing intraocular pressure in a patient. The method may comprise administering a viscoelastic material in Schlemm's canal to open aqueous humor outflow pathways. The device is adapted to perform the method. The viscoelastic material may be configured to lower the intraocular pressure within the eye.

Systems and methods for viscoelastic delivery

An apparatus is comprised of a processor, a fast-locking Phase-Locked Loop Waveform Generator (PLLWG), an amplifier circuit, and a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). The processor generates data program signals to program the PLLWG and generates a trigger command signal instructing the PLLWG to generate an analog tuning signal. The PLLWG, coupled to the processor, generates the analog tuning signal based on the trigger command signal. The amplifier circuit, coupled to the PLLWG, receives the analog tuning signal, amplify the analog tuning signal, and generates a control voltage. The VCO, coupled to the amplifier circuit, receives the control voltage and amplifies the control voltage to generate an amplified Radio Frequency (RF) channel frequency signal.

An antenna comprises an axial helical radiating element and a corrugated ground plane. The axial helical radiating element provides a radiation pattern substantially parallel to a primary axis of rotation of the helical radiating element. The corrugated ground plane, disposed proximate to a back region of the antenna, comprises corrugations to increase an electrical length of travel for radial standing waves between an axial helical input, at which the axial helical radiating element is coupled to the corrugated ground plane, to an outer edge of the corrugated ground plane.

A device for clearing obstructions from a medical tube includes a housing defining an interior, an exterior, and a port providing fluid communication therebetween. The device further includes an elongated guide wire residing at least partially within the housing, and first and second rollers defining a nip therebetween that are located within the housing. A guide wire extends through the nip and is drivable for advancement and retraction thereof through the port via rotation of the rollers.

Medical tube clearance device

Apparatus and methods for clearing obstructions from a medical tube are disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, a spool drive system is disclosed for actuating a guide wire within a medical tube. The spool drive system can be a hand held, disposable device having a spool housing with a spool therein for alternately advancing and withdrawing a guide wire through an inlet of the spool housing. A track can be spaced from and extend about a perimeter of the spool to direct the guide wire onto or off of the spool as the spool is rotated. Other embodiments and devices for actuating the guide wire, and methods therefor, also are disclosed.

A system includes a first antenna and a second antenna. The first antenna includes an antenna section. The antenna section includes a first antenna segment, a second antenna segment adjacent to the first antenna segment, and a notch circuit disposed within a notch between the first antenna segment and the second antenna segment. The notch circuit prevents a first frequency of a signal from passing from the first antenna segment to the second antenna segment while allowing a second frequency from the signal to pass from the first antenna segment to the second antenna segment. The second antenna is disposed proximate to the first antenna. The first antenna occupies a second near field region of the second antenna and the second antenna occupies a first near field region of the first antenna.

Filtering proximity antenna array

A tapered slot antenna includes a cavity, first and second antenna flanges, a tapered slot, and first and second current wings. The first and second antenna flanges can be disposed on a first half and a second half of the tapered slot antenna, respectively. The second antenna flange can be electrically coupled to the first antenna flange, the first and second antenna flanges tapering from a greater flange width proximate to a top of the tapered slot antenna to a lesser flange width proximate to the cavity. The first current wing can be disposed on the first half of the antenna and the second current wing can be disposed on the second side of the antenna. The first and second sidewalls can be disposed on the first and second halves of the tapered slot antenna, respectively, can taper from the top to a bottom of the tapered slot antenna.

An antenna installation having an antenna and a wire assembly. The antenna has a first end and a second end, with the antenna having a radiative distribution pattern and RF input characteristics. The wire assembly is positioned in close proximity to the antenna. The wire assembly includes a conductor and an RF insulative wrap. The conductor has a first end and a second end and at least one conductive element extending between the first end and the second end. The RF insulative wrap encircles the conductor between the first end and the second end. The RF insulative wrap includes a magnetic sheet having a magnetic metal powder within a polymer matrix. A method of preparing a wire assembly as well as the wire assembly itself are likewise disclosed.
