The present disclosure defines a lever handing apparatus that permits simplified changing of the handing of a lever handle between a left hand and a right hand orientation. The lever handing apparatus includes an assembly with a rotatable spring cage housing and lever spindle that can be selectively rotated within an escutcheon housing to change the handing position of a lever arm. The handing orientation of the lever can be repositioned without removing a back plate or accessing internal components positioned within the escutcheon housing assembly.

Simplified lever handing apparatus

An exemplary status-indicating locking assembly includes a cylindrical lock assembly and a status-indicating assembly. The status-indicating assembly includes a sensor configured to sense the status of the cylindrical lock assembly, a transmission configured to communicate the lock status to at least one side of a door, and an indicator configured to display indicia relating to the lock status on the at least one side of the door. In certain forms, the sensor, transmission, and indicator may be electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, magnetic, or combinations thereof.

Status-indicating cylindrical lock assembly

A mortise lock assembly is disclosed that enables a position of a door associated with the mortise lock assembly to be determined despite whether a deadbolt is in a retracted state or an engaged state. An auxiliary latch assembly transitions between an engaged state and a retracted state. A main latch assembly may also transition between an engaged state and a retracted state. A magnetic field sensing device that is positioned on the auxiliary latch assembly detects a magnetic field generated by a magnetic field generating device positioned on a door strike. The magnetic field sensing device is positioned on the auxiliary latch assembly such that the magnetic field sensing device is aligned with the magnetic field generating device positioned on the door strike when the door is in a closed position. The magnetic field sensing device may also be positioned on the main latch assembly in a similar manner.
