The present invention relates to a heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) monitor. The HVAC monitor queries a power database for historical and recovery power data and determines an average and daily power consumption of a customer premises. The HVAC monitor predicts the operational state of an HVAC system based on a comparison of the daily power consumption and average power consumption and triggers an alert for initiating remedial operations if the operational state of the HVAC system is below a performance threshold.

A power grid monitoring system for determining a cause of a lateral trouble ticket. The power grid monitoring system can determine a cause of a lateral trouble ticket in response to receiving the lateral trouble ticket. The power grid monitoring system associates a set of smart meters with a first, penultimate and last transformer downstream from a given lateral. The power grid monitoring system pings each smart meter in the set of smart meters to indicate a state of the first, penultimate and last transformers of the given lateral. Accordingly, the power monitoring system determines a cause of a lateral trouble ticket associated with the given lateral based on results of the pings to the set of smart meters associated with the first, last and penultimate transformers. The power grid monitoring system can further augment the lateral trouble ticket with information characterizing the cause of the lateral trouble ticket.

Systems and methods to label images for inclusion into a machine learning image recognition training data set. A coded labeling definition is defined. A set of digital images is collected that includes images of different types of piece of equipment. A digital image is presented that includes an image of a particular piece of equipment. A received numeric code corresponding to the particular piece of equipment within the present image is received. The received numeric code is associated with the present image and the present image is stored in association with the received numeric code into a machine learning image recognition data set. A machine learning image recognition is trained based on the machine learning image recognition data set to automatically associate unlabeled images with the respective numeric code that corresponds to the particular piece of equipment in the unlabeled image.

A service ticket control can close an open service ticket for a field service visit to resolve a power outage experienced at a given customer premises. The open service ticket can be closed in response to usage data from a given smart meter at the customer premises indicating that the customer premises is consuming power above a predetermined threshold level. The service ticket control closes the open service ticket prior to a service crew assigned the service ticket arriving at the given customer premises.
