The card may include one or more antennas in communication with the chip. The card may include a first layer of material aligned within a perimeter of the card via laminate encapsulation. The first layer of material may comprise a non-rectangular shape. The first layer of material may be offset with a shape of the card. The first layer of material may be in communication with the chip. The first layer of material may comprise at least one selected from the group of steel, tungsten, titanium, or any combination thereof. The card may be compliant with one or more form factors.

Systems and methods for producing non-standard shaped cards

Example embodiments of systems and methods for milling patterns for a card are provided. A chip fraud prevention system include a device including a chip. The chip may be at least partially encompassed in a chip pocket. The chip pocket may include one or more shapes. The one or more shapes may include one or more peaks and one or more valleys. For example, an application executing on a computing device may authenticate credentials associated with an account and detect a tap of a contactless card to the computing device. The application may receive, from a communications interface of the contactless card, action data used to determine an action associated with the tap of the contactless card to the computing device. The application may determine a context of the application based on a current output of the application. The application may determine, based on the action data, the determined context, and data associated with the account, a first action associated with the tap of the contactless card to the computing device, the first action associated with at least one of the application and an operating system (OS). The application may initiate performance of the first action based on the tap of the contactless card.

Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques to provide an orientationless transaction card. Embodiments include a transaction card having a substrate comprising one or more laminated layers and a chip comprising processing circuitry, and memory, the chip embedded within the substrate. The transaction card may also include a first contact pad coupled with the chip, the first contact pad embedded on a first side of the substrate at a first location and a second contact pad embedded on the first side of the substrate at a second location. Further, the transaction card includes an antenna embedded within the substrate, the antenna to couple the chip with the second contact pad.

A position alignment system facilitates positioning of a contactless card in a 'sweet spot' in a target volume relative to a contactless card reading device. Alignment logic uses information captured from available imaging devices such as infrared proximity detectors, cameras, infrared sensors, dot projectors, and the like to guide the card to a target location. The captured image information is processed to identify a card position, trajectory and predicted location using one or both of a machine learning model and/or a Simultaneous Localization and Mapping logic. Trajectory adjustment and prompt identification may be intelligently controlled and customized using machine-learning techniques to customize guidance based on the preference and/or historical behavior of the user. As a result, the speed and accuracy of contactless card alignment is improved and received NFC signal strength is maximized, thereby reducing the occurrence of dropped transactions.

Example embodiments of systems and methods for preventing chip fraud are provided. A chip fraud prevention system may comprise a device including a chip, wherein the chip is at least partially encompassed in a chip pocket. One or more connections may be communicatively coupled to one or more surfaces of the chip, and a capacitance member may be coupled to a surface of the chip. The capacitance member may comprise a known capacitance value and the chip may comprise a memory containing an applet, wherein the applet is configured to measure the capacitance value of the capacitance member.
