A method is performed by a distributed unit of a radio access network node having a split architecture. The method includes determining a status or error of the distributed unit. The DU sends, to a control unit of the radio access network node, an indication indicating the status or error of the distributed unit. The message indicates the status or error of the distributed unit for at least one cell served by the distributed unit and/or at least one functionality performed by the distributed unit. The distributed unit receives instructions from the control unit of the radio access network node, and the instructions are at least partially based on the indicated status or error.

The present disclosure relates to radio network communication. In one of its aspects, the disclosure presented herein concerns a method for retrieving configuration information from a target Base Station (BS) in an E-UTRA New Radio-Dual Connectivity (EN-DC) wireless communication system. The method is performed by a source en-gNB. According to the method, a request message requesting configuration information from the target BS is transmitted to a first proxy evolved Node B (eNB). The request message comprises identifiers identifying the source en-gNB and the target BS, respectively.

Apparatuses and methods for configuration information retrieval

A method performed by a first Radio Control Node (RCN) for handling a radio connection to be established in a second beam controlled by a second RCN for the UE served in a first beam controlled by the first RCN. When the radio connection of the UE, served in a first beam controlled by the first RCN, has been established in the second beam controlled by a second RCN, the first RCN obtains feedback from the second RCN. The feedback relates to information about the characteristics of the radio connection in the second beam resulting from measurements performed when the radio connection has been established between the UE and a second radio node providing the second beam. Methods and apparatus for estimating a location of a user equipment (UE) () in a wireless communication system () are presented. For instance, in an example method performed by a UE (), the UE () can receive positioning reference signals (PRSs) transmitted by multiple cells, where a cell of the multiple cells transmits a series of PRSs according to a transmission power pattern (). The transmission power pattern () defines a transmission power for each PRS of the series, the transmission power for each PRS of the series being part of a non-binary set of allowable transmission powers. The example method may also include generating PRS measurement data () for the UE () based on the received PRSs. Methods and apparatuses related to the UE example above are provided for a positioning server () and network node ().

PRS power pattern

The invention describes a method for handling of cell identities, performed by a first radio node of a wireless communication network providing radio coverage to a first cell. The first radio node is connected to at least one second radio node providing radio coverage to a second cell. The first cell has been assigned a first cell identity, and each of the second cells has been assigned an individual cell identity. The method comprises: determining that the first cell identity is the same as the cell identity assigned to one of the second cells; triggering change of cell identity for the first cell from the first cell identity to a second cell identity that is not used for any of the second cells, and sending, to the at least one second radio node, information on the change of cell identity from the first cell identity to the second cell identity.

Method and radio node of a wireless communication network for handling of cell identities

Disclosed is a method performed by a position calculation node () in a wireless communication network (). The node () is arranged for improving accuracy when determining positions in the wireless communication network. The method comprises obtaining a signal transport time value for each of a plurality of different geographical UE positions (UE, UE, UE), wherein the respective signal transport time value relates to the time it takes for a radio signal to travel between a first base station and one of the plurality of UE positions. The method further comprises obtaining a geographical position value for each of the plurality of different geographical UE positions, the position values being independent of the signal transport time values, and determining an actual geographical position for the first base station, based on the obtained signal transport time values, the obtained position values and a predefined geographical position for the first base station.

Improving accuracy when determining positions in a wireless network

There is provided a method for determining radio resource usage. The method is performed by a network node. The method comprises associating a bearer of a terminal device with a target bitrate. The method comprises estimating a spectral efficiency of the bearer. The method comprises acquiring a maximum radio resource usage. The method comprises determining radio resource usage of the bearer based on the target bitrate, the maximum radio resource usage, and the estimated spectral efficiency. A corresponding network node and a corresponding computer program are also provided.
