A power supply includes a connector, a power conversion controller to generate a power supply signal at the connector, and a communication and control processor. The communication and control processor is to receive a set of current control parameters including a current limit over a communication link in the connector, receive measurements of current and voltage of the power supply signal, and generate a drive signal for controlling the power conversion controller based on the received current control parameters and the measurements of the current and the voltage.

A direct current (DC) power source includes a rechargeable battery and a battery charging circuit, and supplies an output voltage within a specified output voltage range to at least one output port. In one embodiment, the power source determines whether an input voltage is present at an input port, where the input voltage is usable to produce a battery charging voltage during normal operation of the charging circuit. The power source also determines whether at least one load device is coupled to the output port(s). When the input voltage is present at the input port and at least one load device is coupled to the output port(s), the power source electronically decouples the rechargeable battery from the charging circuit, electronically adjusts a voltage at an output of the charging circuit so as to be within the specified output voltage range, and provides the adjusted voltage to the output port(s).

An electronic device having an auto-on circuit is provided. The electronic device can include a charging circuit and a control circuit. The control circuit can cause the charging circuit to deliver energy to an external device. The auto-on circuit, which can include an active circuit, can activate the control circuit in response to one or more trigger input circuits. Each trigger input circuit can actuate a switch and deliver an auto-on signal to the control circuit. The control circuit can then actuate a latch to deliver power to a power input terminal to keep itself powered ON.

A method and apparatus operate a switchmode power supply. The apparatus can include a pulse width modulation controller that can produce a first pulse width modulation signal at a first frequency. The apparatus can include a switchmode power supply switching element including a control terminal. The apparatus can include a harmonic filter coupled between the pulse width modulation controller and the control terminal of the switching element. The harmonic filter can provide a second pulse width modulation signal at a second frequency to the control terminal of the switching element. The second frequency can be higher than the first frequency.

The cable compensator can select a first cable compensation if one device charging port is in use and can select a second cable compensation if two device charging ports are in use.

Method and apparatus for charging devices using a multiple port power supply

Methods, systems and apparatus are provided that implement duty cycle modulation of periodic time-synchronous (PTS) receivers for noise reduction. For instance, when a composite signal is received at a PTS receiver, the composite signal includes an input signal and a noise signal. The composite signal is input to a transmission gate of the PTS receiver. The PTS receiver also receives a gating control input signal that turns the transmission gate on and off. A duty cycle controller adjusts a variable duty cycle of the gating control input signal applied to the transmission gate to output an output signal from the transmission gate such that one or more components of the noise signal present in the composite signal is/are reduced in the output signal that is output by the transmission gate.

A circuit () for controlling at least one piezoelectric actuator () includes a piezoelectric drive circuit () that generates unidirectional voltage drive signal, also referred to as V, at node (). The piezoelectric actuator drive circuit () includes a boost switcher circuit or charging circuit (), a buck switcher circuit or pulsed current sink discharge circuit () and a control signal generating circuit () that receives an input control signal () from, for example, a keyboard processor or other suitable processor () indicating that the device has requested generation of haptic feedback utilizing the piezoelectric actuator ().
