A percutaneous circulatory support device includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet. A shaft is rotatably fixed relative to the housing. An impeller is disposed within the housing and is rotatably supported by the shaft. The impeller is configured to rotate relative to the shaft and the housing to cause blood to flow into the inlet, through the housing, and out of the outlet. A keeper is coupled to the shaft distally relative to the impeller, and the keeper inhibits axial motion of the impeller relative to the shaft.

Percutaneous circulatory support system facilitating reduced hemolysis

A blood pump includes an impeller; a drive shaft coupled to the impeller and configured to rotate with the impeller; and a rotor coupled to the drive shaft and configured to rotate with the drive shaft. The rotor includes a driven magnet having an outer surface. A corrosion-resistant coating may be disposed on the outer surface of the driven magnet. A stator is disposed adjacent the rotor and configured to drive the rotor, causing the rotor to rotate; and a motor is configured to drive the stator. A protection assembly may be disposed adjacent the stator and configured to receive an end of the drive shaft, and may include a protection assembly housing enclosing a protective fluid chamber, the protective fluid chamber including the driven magnet and at least a portion of a bearing configured to engage the end of the drive shaft.

A blood pump includes an impeller; a drive shaft coupled to the impeller and configured to rotate with the impeller; a motor configured to drive the impeller; and a bearing assembly disposed adjacent the motor and configured to receive an end of the drive shaft. The bearing assembly includes a bearing, where the end of the drive shaft is at least partially rounded, and the where the bearing includes a concave depression defined in a first side of the bearing, where the depression is configured to receive the end of the drive shaft. The bearing assembly may include a lubricant chamber configured to hold a lubricant.

A bearing assembly is configured to retain an end of an impeller of a blood pump and includes a thrust plate having a distal-facing surface and an impeller bearing surface configured to be disposed adjacent the distal-facing surface such that a gap is defined between the distal-facing surface of the thrust plate and the impeller bearing surface. The impeller bearing surface includes at least one washout blade disposed thereon and configured to facilitate blood flow through the gap.

Polypectomy devices and methods for making and using polypectomy devices are disclosed. An example polypectomy device may include an elongate sheath having a proximal end region and a distal end region. A shaft may be slidably disposed within the sheath. A handle may be coupled to the proximal end region of the sheath. The handle may be designed to axially shift the shaft relative to the sheath. A snare may be coupled to the shaft. The snare may include a first region, a traction region, and a distal tip region. The first region may have a non-circular cross-sectional shape. The traction region may include a plurality of traction members. At a position between two adjacent traction members the snare may have a reduced cross-sectional area relative to the first region. The distal tip region may have a circular cross-sectional shape.

An example occlusive implant is disclosed. The example occlusive implant includes an expandable framework configured to shift between a first configuration and a second expanded configuration, an occlusive member disposed along at least a portion of an outer surface of the expandable framework and a resilient member coupled to the occlusive member. Further, the resilient member is configured to keep the occlusive member taut against an outer surface of the expandable member in both the first configuration and the second configuration.

Methods and devices provide for temporary partial aortic occlusion to achieve diversion of blood flow to the brain in patients suffering from cerebral ischemia. The device can include an expandable frame with a membrane mounted on a first portion of the frame. The membrane can have at least one opening. In some embodiments, the membrane has an outer region and an inner region, and an opening in the inner region. In use, the frame can expand to conform to the inner walls of the aorta and the membrane can at least partially occlude the aorta thereby increasing cerebral perfusion. The frame can include one or more anchors to aid in maintaining the device in position against the arterial blood flow pressure.
