A space-based circuit-replacing robotic system and method include a satellite grasper configured to grasp the satellite having a printed circuit onto which an integrated circuit is soldered and the integrated circuit is to be replaced; an access mechanism configured to remove the printed circuit and/or to provide access to the printed circuit; a printed circuit orientation device configured to orient a printed circuit such that sunlight is incident on the printed circuit; one or more temperature sensors configured to measure a temperature of the solder on the printed circuit; a processor configured to adjust a rate of heating to match a desired heating rate; a circuit grasping device configured to position the circuit for replacement; and an optical shield that is configured to be adjusted to allow light to pass substantially only to a desired area of the printed circuit.

Space-based circuit-replacing robotic system

An antenna extender and an antenna extended with a laser induced includes a laser source and an antenna feed. The laser source is capable of emitting a laser beam along an axis with sufficient power to produce a laser induced plasma in an atmosphere along the axis of the laser beam. The antenna feed extends along the axis for coupling between a radiofrequency signal and the laser induced plasma. The antenna feed extended with the laser induced plasma has an enhanced radiation efficiency for the radiofrequency signal that is greater than the antenna feed that is not extended and has a stub radiation efficiency for the radiofrequency signal when the laser source is deactivated and does not emit the laser beam.

Method comprises receiving, by at least one memory, from at least one imaging system, at least two input images. The method includes comparing, by a processor, the at least two input images to each other such that nonstationary portions of the at least two input images are determined by either separating, by the at least one processor, each of the two input images into multiple pixel regions, and generating an error matrix for each of said multiple pixel regions. If an error value in the error matrix falls within a predetermined range, the pixel region is a nonstationary portion of the input images; or identifying, by a machine learning system, nonstationary portions of the input images. The pixels from nonstationary portions are removed from the at least two input images.

The navigation system includes a first wind probing device disposed at a first probe position, wherein the first wind probing device is in communication, via a first probe communications link, with a body communication system. The navigation system also includes a second wind probing device disposed at a second probe position, wherein the second wind probing device is in communication, via a second probe communications link, with the body communication system. The navigation system also includes a wind variation detection system configured to determine wind information, including at least a wind direction, for the first wind probing device and the second wind probing device.
