In an example, a media conveyor includes a media support platform having a suction hole, and a valve to selectively close the suction hole. A valve actuator to actuate the valve includes an air tube having an air inlet and a seal to selectively seal the air inlet.

In one example, a device for unwinding or winding multiple rolls of print substrate includes multiple spindles each to hold a roll of print substrate and a differential operatively connected to one end of each spindle. The spindles are aligned with one another lengthwise along a spindle axis and the differential is to output torque along a differential axis offset from the spindle axis to turn the spindles on the first axis.

In one example, a method of controlling a printing system is described, the method comprising activating a driver to advance a conveyor belt in a plurality of sub-turns. For each of the plurality of sub-turns, a first parameter associated with movement of the conveyor belt is determined, based on data obtained from the driver. For each of the plurality of sub-turns, a second parameter associated with movement of the conveyor belt is also determined, based on data obtained from an optical sensor. A per-sub-turn slippage parameter is calculated for each of the plurality of sub-turns, based on any difference between the first parameter and the second parameter. The method further comprises calculating a slippage metric based on the per-sub-turn slippage parameters for the plurality of sub-turns, and causing outputting of a conveyor belt tension adjustment indication.

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a printing system. In one example, the printing system comprises a print substrate supply mechanism and a conveyor belt. The print substrate supply mechanism is to supply print substrate to the conveyor belt and the conveyor belt is to advance the supplied print substrate. During a substrate loading operation of the printing system, the print substrate supply mechanism prevents motion of the substrate such that when the conveyor belt is activated the supplied substrate slides over the conveyor belt.

Substrate de-skew in printing systems

In one example, a printing system is described, having a conveyor belt, a first optical sensor, a second optical sensor, and a controller. The first optical sensor is located proximate to a first edge of the conveyor belt. The second optical sensor is located proximate to a second edge of the conveyor belt, wherein the second edge is on the opposite side of the conveyor belt to the first edge. The controller receives data related to optical detection of lateral movement of the conveyor belt from the first and second optical sensors, and causes a correction for the detected lateral movement of the conveyor belt in association with a print job of the printing system.

A tensioner device for use with a printing device is described which is to hold an end of a print target holder sheet in a substantially planar configuration across a platen of a printing device. The tensioner device can be fixed to a frame attachable to a platen of a printing device. The tensioner device has a first surface, and the frame has a second surface corresponding to the first surface. The first surface is formed to slide along the second surface in a first direction having an oblique angle with respect to a plane of the print target holder sheet. A fixing mechanism is also described which allows the first surface to be fixed to the second surface at different positions along the first direction. An apparatus including the tensioner device and the frame is also described. A system including a printer, a platen, tensioner devices and frames is also described.

Adaptative substrate curing by ejecting a curing flow rate to a curing zone by: heating a heating fluid to a curing temperature; causing the heating fluid to flow along a plurality of serially connected chambers separated being each pair of chambers separated by a heating fluid restrictor, actuating on the heating fluid restrictor as to determine a restricted flow rate between adjacent chambers thereby defining a curing flow rate that passes from the chambers towards the curing zone.

Examples described herein include methods and devices for systems that include a conveyor belt comprising an exterior surface and an interior surface, an embedded optical sensor disposed proximate to the interior surface of the conveyor belt to optically detect movement of the conveyor belt, and a driver to move the conveyor belt based on the detected movement of the conveyor belt.

An image forming system includes a fluid applicator unit, a substrate positioning unit, and a fluid collector assembly. The fluid collector assembly includes a collector substrate, a collector advancement unit, and a collector control module. The fluid applicator unit may apply fluid to a substrate. The substrate positioning unit may position the substrate in a printzone to receive the fluid from the fluid applicator unit such that a first portion of the fluid remains on the substrate and a second portion of the fluid does not remain on the substrate. The collector substrate may collect the second portion of the fluid in the printzone below the substrate. The collector advancement unit may advance the collector substrate along a collector transport path below the substrate in the printzone. The collector control module may control the collector advancement unit to selectively advance the collector substrate along the collector transport path in response to application of the fluid to the substrate by the fluid applicator unit.

In one example, a platen for supporting a print substrate includes multiple support surfaces that together define the full extent of a substrate support area of the platen. Each support surface is oriented parallel to other support surfaces along a line that is oblique to a direction the print substrate is to pass over the support surfaces when the platen is in use in a printer or other liquid dispenser.
