A valve seat assembly for use in a fluid control valve. The valve seat assembly includes a pad holder and a support ring. The pad holder includes a support body configured to support a seat pad and a plurality of alignment struts projecting radially outwardly from the support body. The support ring extends around the radially outer perimeter of the alignment struts. The pad holder slides into and out of an operative position in the support ring.

Top entry axial flow regulator

An axial flow regulator includes a lateral access port through a portion of the valve body that provides access to a valve seat assembly and/or other portions of the valve trim without having to remove or uncouple the outlet flange or the inlet flange from the adjacent pipe sections. The lateral access port may extend through an outlet flange portion of the valve body and is configured to allow a valve seat assembly to be laterally inserted into and removed from the outlet flange. A valve seat assembly which may be configured for installation in the axial flow regulator includes a pad holder and a support ring for the pad holder that is separable from the pad holder. The pad holder may have alignment struts projecting radially outwardly from a pad support body. The support ring may include strut receivers that slidably receive the alignment struts of the pad holder.

A balanced valve trim, a regulator valve with a balanced valve trim, and methods for modifying a regulator valve with a balanced valve trim assembly to accommodate different volume flow rates through the regulator valve are disclosed.

Fluid regulator systems having reset apparatus and methods are described herein. A fluid regulator system includes a fluid regulator including a loading chamber and a supply chamber. The supply chamber is in fluid communication with a supply fluid. The system includes a first fluid control device having a loading inlet and a loading outlet. The loading inlet receives a loading fluid from a loading fluid source and the loading outlet is in fluid communication with the loading chamber. The first fluid control device controls fluid flow between the loading fluid source and the loading chamber. A second fluid control device includes a vent inlet and a vent outlet. The vent inlet is in fluid communication with the loading outlet and the loading chamber and the vent outlet is in fluid communication with a vent. The second fluid control device to control fluid flow between the loading chamber and the vent.

Pilot operated fluid regulators having a reset apparatus and related methods

A sealing disk mounting assembly for a regulator includes a mounting member adapted to be operatively attached to a tubular member of a control member assembly of a regulator, a disk holder operatively attached to the mounting member, and an annular sealing disk disposed in an annular channel that is formed between the mounting member and the disk holder. The annular sealing disk is mechanically retained between the mounting member and the disk holder by compressive forces.

A flow path velocity modifier allows a control member of a control valve to operate very close to a seat ring while reducing or eliminating restricted flow areas, which results in greatly reduced flow velocity fluctuations, which results in smoother flow, between the sealing element and the seat ring. As a result, sealing elements made of relatively soft materials may be used without fear of damage from high flow velocities.

A control assembly for converting a 'fail-close' regulator to a 'fail-open' regulator, or vice versa, without having to modify or reconfigure a casing of the regulator includes a control member, a central rod, and a spring disposed between first and second spring seats. A regulator including the control assembly includes a valve body and an actuator casing, the valve body defining a fluid flow-path. The control member is slidably disposed within the actuator casing and adapted for displacement relative to the valve body for controlling the flow of fluid through the flow-path. The spring and spring seats are disposed about the central rod, such that the spring biases the control member into a predetermined position relative to the regulator casing.

Positioning device for pressure regulator

Fluid regulator systems having reset apparatus and methods are described herein. An example reset apparatus for use with a fluid regulator system includes a first valve having an inlet to receive a loading fluid and an outlet in fluid communication with a loading chamber of a fluid regulator, and a second valve having an inlet in fluid communication with the loading chamber of the fluid regulator and an outlet in fluid communication with a vent.

A control device includes a valve body, a seat ring, and an actuator. The valve body defines a flow-path for a fluid. The seat ring is disposed within the flow-path. The actuator is coupled to the valve body and includes a control member. The control member is adapted for displacement relative to the seat ring for regulating a flow of the fluid through the flow-path. The control member includes a sealing disk adapted to sealingly engage the seat ring and close the flow-path. The seat ring includes a plurality of orifices disposed within the flow-path such that the seat ring prevents at least a portion of the flow of the fluid from substantially perpendicularly impacting the sealing disk.

Flow restricted seat ring for pressure regulators

Pressure-balanced fluid pressure regulators are described. An example fluid regulator includes a fluid flow control member disposed within a fluid flow passageway of a valve body and moves relative to a seat ring to modulate fluid flow through the fluid flow passageway. A valve stem couples the fluid flow control member to an actuator. The valve stem has a pathway to allow fluid from an inlet of the fluid flow passageway to flow across the flow control member between a first side of the flow control member and a second side of the flow control member opposite the first side to pressure-balance the fluid flow control member.

Pressure-balanced fluid pressure regulators

Two-piece trim apparatus for use with fluid regulators are described. In one described example, a fluid regulator has a regulator body and a first seat ring to provide a first flow characteristic disposed within the body and defining a fluid orifice. The first seat ring is interchangeable with a second seat ring that is to provide a second flow characteristic different from the first flow characteristic. The fluid regulator also includes a first cage to provide a third fluid characteristic and removably coupled to the first seat ring. The first cage is interchangeable with a second cage that is to provide a fourth fluid flow characteristic different from the third flow characteristic. The first cage can be selectively coupled to the first seat ring or the second seat ring and the first seat ring can be selectively coupled to the first cage or the second cage.
