An optical connector assembly () includes a plug () and a socket () which are interconnectable to each other in an axial direction (x). The plug () comprises a plug housing () in which a first ferrule () is arranged and the socket () comprises a socket housing (), in which a second ferrule () is arranged.

Optical connector assembly

The invention relates to a means of cable strain relief () comprising a crimping sleeve () for the mechanical operative connection of a cable () to a crimping neck (), wherein the crimping sleeve () is used in the crimped state for clamping a textile braid () of the cable () intended for stain relief between the crimping sleeve () and the crimping neck (). At its cable-side end, the crimping sleeve () comprises a deformable plastic sleeve () that produces a mechanical operative connection in the crimped state between an exterior jacket () of the cable () and the crimping sleeve ().

Cable strain relief for cables, in particular fiber optic cables

The invention relates to a cable gland () having a flange () and a plug-in part () suited for an operational connection to the flange (). The plug-in part () comprises a locking sleeve (), and a fastener () for a connector (), said fastener being operatively connected to said locking sleeve by way of a control slide (). The control slide () is configured such that a rotation of the locking sleeve () around the longitudinal axis (x) of the plug-in part () results in an axial displacement of the fastener () in a longitudinal direction.

Plug-in device for an optical cable

An optical connector (), in particular for outside use, for detachably connecting at least two optical cables along a connector axis () comprises a socket portion () and a plug portion (), which portions are substantially of cylindrical design with respect to the connector axis (), can be detachably plugged into one another along the connector axis () and can be locked in the plugged-in state. A locking mechanism (), which is equipped with a latch function and which latches automatically during insertion is provided for the purposes of rapid locking.

Optical connector

The present disclosure relates to a cable insertion () for connecting a cable () to a housing (). The cable insertion () includes a connection device () having a cantilever-like element () having a mounting fixture () on the front end thereof for mounting a mating part () attached to a jacket () of the cable (). A securing means () secures the fixture.

An optical plug-in connection for the connection of polarization-maintaining optical fibers includes a sleeve having a bore therein and a receptacle having a bore therein for supporting the sleeve with the bore of the sleeve aligned with the bore of the receptacle. First and second ferrules are provided having bores supporting ends of optical fibers. A first end of the first ferrule is received in one end of the bore of the sleeve via one end of the bore of the receptacle. A first end of the second ferrule is received in the other end of the bore of the sleeve via the other end of the bore of the receptacle. A locking mechanism is provided for locking the first and second ferrules to the receptacle.

Optical plug-in connection

An optical plug-in connection for connecting polarization-maintaining optical fibers includes at least two plug-in connectors and a coupler into which the plug-in connectors are plugged from opposite ends. The optical fiber to be connected is fixed to the fiber end of a ferrule in each of the plug-in connectors. The coupler is provided with a guiding device into which the ferrules enter from opposite ends when the plug-in connectors are plugged into the coupler. Also provided are means for positioning the ferrules at an angle from each other. The ferrules can be positioned in relation to each other in a much more precise manner by means of such an optical plug-in connection by configuring the positioning means in such a way that the ferrules are placed at an angle that is relative to the guiding device when the plug-in connectors are plugged into the coupler.

The invention relates to a method for fabricating an optical plug connector, according to which the optical waveguide is immersed with the exposed optical fiber into a powdery adhesive and is withdrawn from the same, whereby particles of the powdery adhesive remain adhered to the surface of the fiber. The fiber with the adhered particles is then inserted into the bore of the ferrule of the plug connector and is fixed therein. The ferrule is heated to a temperature greater than or equal to the melting temperature of the adhesive and is maintained at this temperature. A particular suitability for use in the field is achieved by virtue of the fact that: the bonding of the fiber to the ferrule is carried out in a battery-operated hand-held device (); the plug with the ferrule is inserted into and held on a receptacle () that is placed on the hand-held device (); inside the receptacle (), the ferrule is surrounded by a battery-operated electric heating element; the optical waveguide with the fiber is then inserted into the plug and is fixed inside the same by actuating means () arranged inside the hand-held device (), and; finally, the adherence is effected by heating the ferrule using the heating element.

Method for fabricating an optical plug connector, device for carrying out the method, and plug connector for use in such a method

A method fixes an optical fiber ( ) in a connector ( ) for an optical plug-in connection. The connector ( ) includes a location body ( ) having a bore hole ( ) to receive the optical fiber ( ).
