A solventborne pigment dispersion having a volatile organic chemical (VOC) content that is less than 250 g/L for tinting solvent-based surface coatings is formulated using a vegetable oil-derived solvent component that is one or more methyl esters of vegetable oils, an acrylic resin containing at least 60% solids, one or more highly concentrated surfactants containing up to 100% by weight of active constituents and that contains no PMA or free aromatic moieties, and one or more organic pigments or one or more inorganic pigment, or a combination thereof.

Low VOC solventborne dispersion compositions for tinting solvent-based coatings

Lactone copolymers are disclosed which are polymerized from a first lactone monomer and a second amorphous monomer which is effective to suppress the crystallization of the copolymer. It is disclosed that suppression of the crystallization can provide enhanced mechanical properties in films made from the copolymers. As a result, films prepared from the copolymers of the present invention can have properties rendering them suitable for use as biodegradable trash bags as well as for other uses.

Biodegradable lactone copolymers

Condensation copolymers are disclosed which are polymerized from a first monomer which is capable of polymerization by condensation polymerization, e.g., ring opening lactone polymerization, and a second monomer which is effective to suppress the crystallization of the copolymer. It is disclosed that suppression of the crystallization can provide enhanced mechanical properties in films made from the copolymers. As a result, films prepared from the copolymers of the present invention can have properties rendering them suitable for use as biodegradable trash bags as well as for other uses.

Condensation copolymers having supressed crystallinity

A cavitation resistant polymer and coating are provided by curing a composition containing from about 24 to 48 wt. % of a liquid epoxy resin, from about 24 to 48 wt. % of a blocked isocyanate prepolymer, from about 4.2 to 12 wt. % of a rheological additive at least 65% of which is an amorphous silica flatting agent, from about 10 to 14 wt. % of a curing agent, from about 1 to 4 wt. % of a plasticizer, and from about 0.1 to 0.6 wt. % of a silane. The composition can contain pigments, fillers and other auxillary agents.
