This invention relates to a treatment process for a material chosen from among a polyamide, a polyester and a poly(meth)acrylate. According to the invention, this process comprises a step in which contact is made between this material and a polar organic solvent in a supercritical fluid. This invention also relates to a process for manufacturing a part from a material chosen from among a polyamide, a polyester and a poly(meth)acrylate in a divided form. Finally, the invention relates to use of the material treated by the treatment process and to use of the part manufactured by the manufacturing process in the low voltage, medium voltage or high voltage electrical industry.

Process for treating a material chosen from among a polyamide, a polyester and a poly(meth)acrylate

The present invention relates to a process for treating a polyamide-based material comprising silica fibers and/or fillers, by impregnation with at least one hydrophobic additive in supercritical CO. The invention also relates to a polyamide-based material comprising silica fibers and/or fillers and impregnated with at least one hydrophobic additive, obtained via such a process, and to the use thereof as an electrically insulating component in an electrical device, in particular in a circuit breaker.

Process for treating silica-filled polyamide by impregnation in supercritical CO2

The invention relates to a process for manufacturing nanoparticles that are self-dispersing in water. It also relates to the self-dispersing nanoparticles obtained by the process of the invention and also a process for manufacturing a heat-transfer fluid containing the nanoparticles according to the invention or obtained by the process of the invention. The process of the invention comprises the following steps: a) optionally, manufacture of an aqueous dispersion of nanoparticles chosen from the nanoparticles of alumina (AlO), of zinc oxide (ZnO), of titanium oxide (TiO), of silica (SiO) and of beryllium oxide (BeO), b) addition to an aqueous dispersion of nanoparticles chosen from nanoparticles of alumina (AlO), of zinc oxide (ZnO), of titanium oxide (TiO), of silica (SiO) and of beryllium oxide (BeO), of a water-soluble polymer chosen from polyvinyl alcohols, polyethylene glycols, polyvinylpyrrolidones, polyoxazolines, starches, and mixtures of two or more thereof, and c) thermal quenching of the dispersion obtained in step b), and d) lyophilization of the quenched dispersion obtained in step c). The invention finds an application in the field of coolants in particular.

Self-dispersing nanoparticles

The present invention relates to the use, as an antifreeze agent, of a composition containing a polymer chosen from polyetheramines having a critical solubility temperature in water, referred to as LCST, ranging from 20 to 80&#xb0; C. and also compositions, in particular of coolant type, comprising a polymer having a critical solubility temperature in water ranging from 20 to 80&#xb0; C.

Use of composition as an antifreeze agent

The invention relates to a heat-transporting fluid and to the use thereof. The heat-transporting fluid of the invention is formed of an aqueous colloidal sol including water and up to 58.8 wt %, relative to the total fluid weight, in a-Al2O3 particles, the thickness of which is the smallest dimension and less than or equal to 30 nm 90% to 95% of said a-Al2O3 particles have a size less than or equal to 210 nm, among which 50% have a size less than or equal to 160 nm. The invention is of use in the field of cooling, in particular nuclear reactor backup cooling.

Colloidal dispersion of aluminum oxide

The invention relates to a method for detecting and/or quantifying water leaks in a water pipe, and to a device for realizing said method. The method of the invention comprises measuring the water flow rate in the pipe in at least two different locations, i.e., one downstream and one upstream relative to the suspected leak, the water flow rate being measured by injecting a tracing agent that modifies the water conductivity instantaneously at an upstream location and a downstream location relative to the suspected leak location, continuously measuring the water conductivity downstream from said locations and, from the conductivity values, calculating the water flow rates upstream and downstream relative to the suspected leak location in the pipe. The method of the invention can be used for quantifying a leak flow rate that can even be a very small one.
