A method and system for applying vehicle settings to a vehicle is provided. The method and system include determining if a portable device is connected to the vehicle. The method and system also include identifying a first settings profile that is linked to the portable device upon determining that an auto-link functionality is enabled on the vehicle. The method and system further include determining if a user input is received to link a second settings profile to the portable device and identifying the second settings profile that is linked to the portable device. The method and system also include applying a settings profile to control a vehicle system during a current drive cycle of the vehicle, wherein the settings profile applied to control a vehicle system includes the first settings profile or the second settings profile.

System configuration management using encapsulation and discovery is provided. The configuration management may include requesting, by a first electronic control unit comprising a processor, feature information associated with a second electronic control unit. The feature information may include data related to a set of features implemented by the second electronic control unit. The configuration management may also include loading, by the first electronic control unit, an internal control for a first feature of the set of features based on a determination that the first feature is not loaded on the first electronic control unit.

System configuration management using encapsulation and discovery

A system includes a plurality of sources configured to provide a plurality of audio channels, and a control system including a processor, and a computer-readable storage media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon. When executed by the processor, the computer-executable instructions cause the processor to adjust a master volume, identify a channel volume type associated with a first audio channel of the plurality of audio channels, and determine a channel volume associated with the first audio channel based at least partially on at least one of the adjustment of the master volume and the channel volume type.
