A vehicle door lock release mechanism includes a plate assembly coupled with a vehicle, sliding plates that slide in opposite directions, an elastic member coupled with the plate assembly, and electromagnets coupled with the plate assembly. One electromagnet may be energized to prevent movement of a first sliding plate while a second sliding plate may move responsive to a release cable being pulled. The second electromagnet may be energized to magnetically couple with and prevent movement of the second sliding plate once the second sliding plate reaches the second electromagnet. The elastic member may be stretched and store energy from the release cable being pulled while both the first and second electromagnets remain energized. The first electromagnet may be de-energized to permit movement of the first sliding plate and release the energy stored in the elastic member for opening a door of the vehicle.

Door lock release mechanism

A lock mechanism includes a release cam assembly configured to be articulated around an axis of a spindle, an isolation lock unlock linkage, a primary lock unlock linkage, and a door panel suspension. Responsive to an emergency release being pulled, the isolation lock unlock linkage and the primary lock unlock linkage are configured to be sequentially actuated in a sequence that includes a) unlocking an isolation lock when the isolation lock previously was in a locked position, b) unlocking a primary door lock by rotational stroke motion of the spindle, and c) rotating the spindle in an open direction.

Integrated primary lock and isolation lock emergency release mechanism

The manual release mechanism described herein enables a passenger to attempt to manually open the transit door, but delays opening until the vehicle is no longer moving. A motion transfer device () moves to an unlocking position of the door lock () only when the manual release mechanism is activated to store energy in a mechanical energy storage device (), and an electromechanical device () is de-energized to release the motion transfer device ().

Delayed emergency release unit

The manual release mechanism described herein enables a passenger to attempt to manually open the door but delays opening until the vehicle is no longer moving. A motion transfer device moves to an unlocking position of the door lock only when the manual release mechanism is activated to release store energy in a mechanical energy storage device and an electromechanical device is de-energized to release the motion transfer device.

Pre-biased delayed emergency release

A powered gap mitigation device for transit vehicles allows a gap mitigation plate to move outboard from its stowed position, be locked in the deployed position, move inboard from a deployed position to a stowed position, be locked in the stowed position, and be manually stowed and cut-out in case of malfunction.

Low profile gap mitigation device

A door operator system for moving a door of a vehicle between open and closed positions includes a track defined in a base, the track having a curved portion at an end thereof; a drive bracket configured to suspend the door from the base, the drive bracket being slidably movable along the track between an open position and a closed position adjacent to the curved portion; a drive mechanism configured to cause movement of the drive bracket between the open and closed positions; and a locking system configured to retain the drive bracket in the closed position. When the drive bracket is in the closed position, the curved portion engages a cam follower of the locking system to retain the cam follower in a locked position that is over center with respect to a plane perpendicular to the track and a plane parallel to the track.

Lock mechanism for improved door panel seal

A lock mechanism for locking and unlocking a door in a passenger vehicle includes a lock cam pivotally connected to a base member. The lock cam has a slot for engaging a lock pin attached to the door. A pivotally connected lock lever engages the lock cam for biasing it and the door lock element in the locked position. An actuator is attached to the base member and connected to the lock lever for releasing the lock lever from engagement with the lock cam enabling the door to unlock. The actuator is connectable with a door control system for receiving a release signal. A manual release is connected to the lock mechanism to manually release the lock cam from engagement with the lock lever. A toggle mechanism biases the manual release in the unlock position and returns it into the lock position. A second pair of lock cam and lock lever may be provided for locking and unlocking a second door in the passenger vehicle.
