Disclosed is a method for producing panels from a board which includes dissecting the board along predefined lines. The board includes a core material board and is laminated with a laminate material layer. The board is dissected along an impressed region running linear over the complete surface of the laminate material layer. Also disclosed are a press plate, a method for the production of a board having an impressed region, and a board for producing the panels.

A panel element may be provided for a covering. In particular, a panel element for a floor, wall or ceiling covering, which covering may be formed by a plurality of panel elements of the same kind which are connected to one another. Each panel element has a basic body having a defined total thickness and upper and a lower surfaces. The basic body has in each case differently contoured longitudinal sides and in each case differently contoured end faces. One longitudinal side has groove-like contouring and the other longitudinal side has tongue-like contouring corresponding thereto.

A panel for wall-, ceiling- or floor coverings is provided, the panel comprising an upper side, a lower side, and front ends, defining a circumference of the panel in the installed state, and at least one front end is protruded with respect to the circumference by a detachable protruding lip formed at the lower side, one horizontal locking groove at the lower side, characterized in that the protruding lip has a predetermined break-off surface. Furthermore, methods are provided for manufacturing wall-, ceiling- and/or floor coverings comprising or consisting of a plurality of the panels.

A rectangular or square wall- or ceiling panel is provided, comprising a first profile a first profile on two opposing edges, whereby each such first profile consists of a panel groove, an inner leg on an installation side of a panel and an outer leg on an visible side of a panel, both inner leg and an outer leg confining said panel groove, wherein both said outer legs are longer than said inner legs. A further second profile may be provided on at least one of the other two opposing edges of the panel, said at least one second profile consisting of a recess on the installation side of the panel. The visible side may be a decorative side.
