Provided are a re-using e-commerce payment instruments for in-store purchasing systems and methods. A customer enters a check out and a transaction at the point of sale is started. The system receives a pairing request at a wallet processor from a customer mobile device operating a mobile application. This pairing request is created and sent in response to scanning of a code having a transaction identification. The system associates a customer payment profile with the transaction identification and sends associated information to the point of sale. The point of sale sends an amount of sale to authorize to the wallet processor after completing scanning of items. The system creates an authorization for payment and sending the authorization for payment to an authorizer. The transaction may then be completed by processing payment.

Re-using payment instruments for in-store use systems and methods

Provided are check-in to checkout systems and methods. The system includes a point of sale, a display, a mobile device, and a backend system. When the POS starts a transaction, such as, but not limited to scanning an item, the POS generates a transaction/basket identification. In response to starting the transaction, the POS sends the transaction/basket ID to the display in the form of a QR code or one-dimensional barcode. The mobile device operating a mobile application scans and captures the displayed code and reports to the backend systems. The backend systems then send a check-in event, which includes gathered data by the backend systems, to the POS and the POS acknowledges receipt of the message. At this point, a notification may be sent to the mobile application that the check-in was successful and a link is established for flow of information.

Examples provide customized authorization of item self-returns. A customized returns manager component calculates a customized return-trust score and a per-item return value based on analysis of item data and transaction history data. If a per-user return-trust score is within an unacceptable threshold range or an item value is within an unacceptable threshold value range, a second user is assigned to assist a first user with completion of the proposed return of the selected item. If the per-user return-trust score and the item value is within an acceptable threshold range, a return authorization component authorizes unassisted self-return of the selected item. An item disposition component determines in real-time whether to permit the first user to keep the selected item or instruct the first user to return the selected item to a designated item return area prior to completion of the item return based on a set of item disposition criteria.

A method for authenticating an online transaction on a first computing device using a second computing device including detecting a request to process sensitive payment information input on the first computing device to complete a transaction, determining that a condition is present associated with the transaction, disabling a payment processing function of the website to prevent a payment from being processed and completed, generating a unique identifier to be displayed on the first computing device, wherein the user scans the unique identifier with a second computing device to initiate an authentication function, authenticating the user operating the first computing device, and enabling, by the processor, the payment processing function of the website to allow the payment to process.

Other services such as verifying the user's ID via an account management service may also be provided.

A computer system, computer program product, and method includes detecting a request for sensitive information to be input by a user, determining that a network is a non-secure network, disabling a sensitive user information input function to prevent the user from entering sensitive information over the unsecure network, generating a unique identifier to be displayed on the computer, wherein the user scans the unique identifier with a mobile device to initiate an automatic transaction over a secure network between the mobile device and the computing system, validating the user operating the mobile device and completing the automatic transaction over the secure network with the mobile device rather than over the unsecure network with the computer.
