In an enterprise network system a plurality of software systems are integrated using an enterprise wide software management system and communicate with a plurality of clients. At least one of the clients is functionally represented by a plurality of subclients through a midware which is transparent to the software systems. Communication destined for any of the clients interfaced through the midware is received by the midware and converted to a format suitable for communication with one or more of the subclients prior to transmission thereto. Correspondingly, communications received from one or more subclients is converted to an appropriate format by the midware and forwarding to the assigned destination. Communications received by the midware is further monitored for fields which are tracked. Upon receiving communications having fields being tracked, the midware stores a least a portion of the communication in a report table.

Method and apparatus for tracking transactions in an enterprise computer network

A wireless communication device which includes a passive radio-frequency (RF) tag having a memory for receiving and storing initial configuration information utilized by the device. The initial configuration information is written to the wireless communication device without requiring that the device be fully assembled, operational, powered up, removed from packaging, etc. An RF controller transmits initial configuration information to the passive tag using an RF signal. The passive tag derives sufficient energy from the RF signal to store the initial configuration information in memory. The wireless communication device further includes an interface which allows a processor within the device to access the initial configuration information upon such time when the device is removed from its packaging, powered up and operational.

A multi-level encryption scheme is provided for a wireless network. A first level of encryption is provided primarily for wireless communications taking place between a mobile terminal and an access point. In addition, a second, higher level of encryption is provided which is distributed beyond the wireless communications onto the system backbone itself. Through a key distribution server/access point arrangement, the second level of encryption provides a secure means for distributing the encryption scheme of the first level without compromising the integrity of the network.

An access point is provided for use in a wireless network having a system backbone and a plurality of mobile terminals. The access point includes a communication circuit coupling the access point to the system backbone, and a first transceiver for wirelessly communicating with at least one of the plurality of mobile terminals on a first communication channel. In addition, the access point includes a second transceiver for wirelessly communicating with at least another of the plurality of mobile terminals on a second communication channel different from the first communication channel.
