A miter joint clamp comprises a base and a sled mounted on the base for linear movement with respect to the base. The base has a planar top side, and such movement is relative to a miter joint plane perpendicular to the planar top side of the base. The sled comprises a first sled fence that has a planar first sled surface extending perpendicular to the top side of the base aligned at a 135&#xb0; angle relative to a first side of the joint plane, with the first sled surface being resiliently compressible relative to the sled in a direction perpendicular to the first sled surface. The sled further comprises a second sled fence that has a planar second sled surface extending perpendicular to the top side of the base and aligned at a 135&#xb0; angle relative to a second side of the joint plane, with the second sled surface being resiliently compressible relative to the sled in a direction perpendicular to the second sled surface. The base comprises a first base fence that has a planar first base surface extending perpendicular to the top side of the base and aligned generally parallel to the first sled surface, and a second base fence that has a planar second base surface extending perpendicular to the top side of the base and aligned generally parallel to the second sled surface.

Miter joint clamp

Disclosed is a digger attachment for a tractor including a frame having at one end of a frame arm a three-point mount for securing the digger to the tractor. The opposite end of the frame arm supports an auger for pivotal movement about a transverse axis. Attached to the head of the auger is a shaft which extends through a bracket mounted on the frame arm. Coil springs are provided about the shaft on opposite sides of the bracket with the opposite ends of the springs butting against nuts threaded on the shaft. To utilize the digger, the nuts on the opposite ends of the shaft are threaded such that the springs displace the shaft in a manner displacing the auger about its transverse pivotal axis such that its rotational axis is slightly rearwardly inclined relative to a vertical through the auger's pivot. That is, the nuts are respectively threaded and unthreaded to achieve the desired inclination of the auger with the spring forces acting on the shaft in balance. Downward movement of the frame arm thus causes the rotational axis of the auger blade to move toward a true vertical position about its transverse pivotal axis and against the bias of the springs whereby a vertical hole is assured. Upon removal of the auger from the hole, the springs serve to return the auger to its adjusted, slightly rearwardly inclined, position whereby the auger is ready to dig another vertical hole.

Digger attachment

An air pre-cleaner is provided for use with an internal combustion engine. The pre-cleaner comprises a housing and vanes fixed to the top of the housing for imparting a circular motion to the air entering the housing between the vanes. This circular motion causes the heavy particles in the air to be projected away from the axis of the housing because of the centrifugal force on the particles caused by the circular motion. A tube means is positioned in the housing and a separator having a plurality of louvers is positioned in the housing between the wall of the housing and the tube. The heavy particles pass through the openings in the louvers and fall from the separator means under the influence of gravity and exit from the housing. The air with the heavy particles removed therefrom then passes through the tube and into the engine. A control mechanism is positioned in the housing between the separator and the exit for controlling the flow of air through the exit towards the separator. The control mechanism comprises a first frustro-conical plate fixed to the tube and extending towards the wall of the housing with the end of the plate being spaced from the wall of the housing, and a second frustro-conical plate fixed to the wall of the housing and extending towards the tube with a space being formed between the end of the second frustro-conical plate and a tube. The width of the first space is greater than the width of the second space whereby the velocity of air passing through the second space is reduced as it passes through the first space. Thus the heavy particles are separated from the air entering the internal combustion engine and the air drawn by the engine through the exit for the heavy particles is controlled.
