An apparatus capable of creating synchronized sound, vibration and magnetic field stimulation, for the purpose of habituating and inhibiting brain function while stimulating the human spiritual energy system, is described. The apparatus comprises an amplifier and transducers built into a comfortable seating arrangement including a support structure and a motion platform. The support structure, such as a chair, rests upon the motion platform, which is adapted to impart three-dimensional motion to the support structure. The apparatus uses layered music to create synchronized sounds, vibrations and magnetic fields.

Device for synchronized sound, vibration and magnetic field stimulation

An apparatus capable of transmitting sound and vibrations to a user is described. The apparatus may also generate an electromagnetic field sufficient to stimulate the user's energy system. The apparatus includes a support structure configured to support at least a part of the user's body; a transducer coupled to the frame of the support structure in a manner which allows the transducer to move in relation to the frame; and an audio signal source for transmitting audio signals to the transducer. The transducer is capable of receiving and responding to audio signals having a wide range of audio frequencies when the apparatus is in use.

Sound and vibration transmission device

A mechanism for releasing an eye strip from a backing material card is described. The backing material card includes a movable flap that releases a right and/or left undamaged end of a strip (for right or left hand preference) into free space in order to conveniently lift the strip off the backing material, preferably between the user's thumb and index finger, for proper orientation and placement on the eyelid.

The present invention is directed to a pad and sound transmission system which is adapted to directly transmit audible sound waves into the body at high intensity levels. Nasal support device for animals and method

A golf tee shot-green placement monitoring system for monitoring golf tee shots to a designated green of a three-par golf course hole for determining the placement of such tee shots upon the green in connection with hole-in-one and closest-to-the-pin contests or challenges. The system comprises a club house base unit, a tee unit, and a green unit. Upon payment of a specified nominal fee, the participating golfer is issued a game card at the club house terminal. Upon reaching the designate three-par hole tee, the golfer inserts the card, or inputs encoded data, into the tee unit which then activates the green unit. Upon driving the tee shot, the green unit, comprising photodetectors and ultrasonic ranging devices, determines the achievement of a hole-in-one or the placement of the tee shot within specified distances from the cup or hole. If the golfer achieves a hole-in-one or places his tee shot within the specified distances from the hole or cup, prize money is awarded.

A nasal dilator that prevents the outer wall tissue of the nasal passages of the nose from drawing in during breathing comprises a truss member. The truss member includes a flexible strip of material having a first end region, a second end region and an intermediate segment. The first and second end regions are adapted to engage the outer wall tissue of first and second nasal passages of the nose. The intermediate segment is configured to traverse a portion of a nose located between the first and second nasal passages. The truss member further includes first and second resilient bands secured to the strip of material adjacent opposite edges of the intermediate segment. The resiliency of the first and second resilient bands acts to stabilize the outer wall tissue and thereby prevents the outer wall tissue of the first and second nasal passages from drawing in during breathing. An end edge tip structure of the first and second end regions prevents inadvertent peeling of the truss member from the outer wall tissue, caused by the resiliency of the first and second resilient bands.

A sleep analysis system for analyzing a sleep episode of a subject based on measured values of a plurality of parameters characterizing that subject. Portions of the measured parameter signals are classified as significant events, and the significant events are segregated based on parameter signal criteria and time correlation as a basis for the analysis.

Such representations may include the average frequency value of electroencephalographic signals, the logarithm of the power of electromyographic signals, and eye movement indications from electrooculographic signals. Criteria for dividing the records of such representations in the system into stages of sleep can be set by a system operator reviewing these records based on accepted stage definition rules. In addition, transient events such as sleep spindles, etc., in these records can be selected therefrom by criteria set by the system operator also based on accepted rules therefor.

Interactive determination of sleep stages

An electroencephalograph (EEG) signal analyzer allows the examination of the changes in EEG cerebral activity at various sites in response to an event (e.g. a stimulus or task). The analyzer includes one or more signal processing modules which periodically sample the EEG signal from each of the sites, convert the sampled signals to digital sample values, and store those values. Digitized waveforms based on the stored digital sample values and having a length equal to or greater than the period of the lowest frequency of interest are transformed from the time to the frequency domain. For each of a plurality of epochs, a frequency spectrum is produced having frequency content which has a content uniquely due to the digital sample values from that epoch. A weighted means frequency value for each site during each epoch is derived from the corresponding frequency spectrum. Based upon the weighted mean frequency values, output signals are provided to a display and a printer to produce graphical representations of cerebral activity with time at the various sites in response to the event.

EEG signal analysis system

An electroencephelograph (EEG) signal analysis system automatically determines and displays, on a real-time basis, the frequency content of spontaneous EEG signals from the brain. The analog EEG signals from a plurality of channels are sampled and converted to digitized EEG waveforms during a continuing sequence of epochs of predetermined time duration. The digitized EEG waveform for each epoch and channel is transformed from the time domain to the frequency domain to produce a frequency spectrum representing amplitude of the EEG signal as a function of frequency. The digital data is screened both prior and subsequent to the transformation to identify those epochs which contain artifacts. During each update period, the frequency spectra for each channel from the artifact-free epochs are averaged. The amplitudes of each averaged frequency spectrum for frequencies in each of four basic frequency bands are then summed. The result is an amplitude value for each of the four frequency bands at each channel. The four amplitude values are used to update a display which contains a graphical representation of the amplitude in each of the four bands in a different color. The amplitude values are also compared with previously recorded base line values, and an audible or visual warning indication is provided when predetermined variances from the base line values occur.
