A circuit and associated methods of operation for a standardized scatter/gather list processor component within DMACs and intelligent IOPs. The standardized circuit architecture and methods provide a register interface and associated processing capabilities to simplify firmware processing to save and restore context information regarding block transfer operations that are paused and resumed prior to completion. Furthermore, the invention provides for architecture and associated methods for processing of standard scatter/gather list elements by a standardized scatter/gather list processor embedded within DMACs and IOPs. Specifically, as applied in the context of SCSI or Fiber Channel IOPs, the scatter/gather list processor of the present invention simplifies IOP firmware processing to save the current block transfer context on occurrence of a SCSI disconnect and to restore the saved context on occurrence of a SCSI reselect.

Methods and apparatus for saving and restoring scatter/gather list processing context in intelligent controllers

A system for emulating a mouse button event via an absolute coordinate input device. The system includes a computer having an operating system capable of receiving mouse type relative coordinate input commands from an absolute coordinate input device adapted to generate coordinate data in response to a finger touch down event. A controller is operably connected to the coordinate input device and adapted to resolve left and right mouse button touch down events and respective coordinate data for such events.

A flat panel display is coupled with an electrostatic stylus driven digitizing panel to produce a display and digitizer system having an interference control feature. The interference control feature first determines the operating frequency of the flat panel display and/or the operating frequency of the stylus. The interference controller may then incrementally reduce the operating frequency of the flat panel display and/or the operating frequency of the stylus until the operating frequency causing the least interference is ascertained. Once the operating frequency causing the least interference is ascertained the interference controller selects new operating parameters for the display and digitizer system.

Method and apparatus for reducing flat panel display horizontal scan

A system and method for testing the functionality of a VGA card and associated monitor. A testing and set up tool or Program is installed in a computer having an operating system. The Program provides a list of modes and timings for a plurality of monitors including the monitor being tested as part of the computer. A user of the Program selects various modes and timings to be tried. Looking at the screen of the monitor enables the user to determine which combinations of modes and timings, for example, are successful. A list is maintained for the modes and timings that prove successful or compatible. The list for compatible combinations is passed to the driver associated with the operating system of the computer. In a DOS environment, for example, the list of compatible combinations is used by the Program to write a Command Line that is used for setting up the associated CONFIG.SYS.
