A method for physically reconstructing a body part using multi-material additive manufacturing includes receiving image data of the body part in the form of arrays of voxels, each array of voxels representing image data pertaining to cross-section of the body part, translating the image data in the arrays of voxels to printable bitmap images representing combinations of modeling materials for reconstructing the body part, and dispensing the combinations of modeling materials responsive to the bitmap images in a layerwise manner.

System and method for fabricating a body part model using multi-material additive manufacturing

The present disclosure provides a meat analogue that comprises a protein-based component and a fat-based component separately distributed within the meat analogue; wherein the meat analogue comprises at least one segment that consists essentially of the protein based component which is chemically distinct from at least one other segment that consists essentially of the fat-based component; and wherein at least one of the following is fulfilled (i) a cubic sample of the meat analogue exhibits an anisotropic physical property and (ii) the meat analogue comprises a non-homogenous distribution of the protein based component and the fat-based component. Also disclosed herein is a method of producing the meat analogue, the method preferably involved digital printing of the meat analogue.

Meat analogues and methods of producing the same

A method of additive manufacturing an object featuring properties of a hard bodily tissue, comprises: dispensing and solidifying a plurality of non-biological material formulations to sequentially form a plurality of hardened layers in a configured pattern corresponding to a shape of the object. The method forms voxel elements containing different material formulations at interlaced locations to provide a three-dimensional textured region spanning over the portion. The material formulations and the interlaced locations are selected such that the textured region exhibits, once hardened, a stress variation of at most ±20% over a strain range of from about 0.1% to about 0.3%.

Method and system for fabricating object featuring properties of a hard tissue

Formulations and methods employing these formulation for fabricating an object by additive manufacturing, such as three-dimensional inkjet printing are provided. The formulations comprise at least 50 weight percents of hydrophilic curable materials, and upon curing, provide a material that is characterized by water absorbance of at least 5%, and by high HDT and impact resistance values. Objects containing cured material made of these formulations are also provided.

Composition and method for additive manufacturing of an object

Formulations usable in additive manufacturing of a three-dimensional object made of a soft material

A method of layerwise solid freeform fabrication is disclosed. The method comprises, for each of at least a few of the layers, dispensing and hardening at least a first modeling material and a second modeling material to form a core region and one or more envelope regions at least partially surrounding the core region. In some embodiments, the ratio between the elastic moduli of adjacent regions, when hardened, is from about 1 to about 20.

Solid freeform fabrication of shelled objects

An additive manufacturing method for printing an object includes receiving three-dimensional printing data corresponding to the object, defining an internal region of the object to be formed with a structured air pocket and printing the object with an additive manufacturing system. The object includes an internal region formed with a structured air pocket.

Method for additive manufacturing an object

A method of 3D printing to achieve a desired surface quality on at least one surface of a 3D printed object comprising selecting a base surface having the desired surface quality; and printing the 3D printed object on the base surface, so that the desired surface quality is imparted to one surface of the 3D printed object during printing. The surface quality may be glassiness, roughness, smoothness and texture in general. Objects may thus be manufactured in which electronic components are integrated in or under a glass-like surface.

3D printing to obtain a predefined surface quality

An inkjet printing method and inkjet compositions are disclosed. The method includes selectively depositing by inkjet printing, layer by layer, a first composition and a second composition onto a receiving media from different dispensers to form polymerizable deposited layers. The first composition includes one or more free-radical polymerizable compounds and a cationic photoinitiator and is devoid of compounds able to undergo cationic photopolymerization within the first composition. The second composition includes one or more cationic polymerizable compounds and is devoid of cationic photoinitiators. At least one of the compositions includes a radical photoinitiator. The method further includes exposing the deposited layers to actinic radiation to initiate polymerization of the free-radical polymerizable compounds and the cationic polymerizable compounds within the deposited layers.

Cationic polymerizable compositions and methods of use thereof

A method of fabricating a cross-layer pattern in a layered object is disclosed. The method is executed by an additive manufacturing system and comprises: dispensing a patterning material onto a receiving medium to form a first pattern element; dispensing a first layer of modeling material onto the first pattern element while forming a first open cavity exposing at least a portion of the first pattern element beneath the first layer; and dispensing patterning material onto the exposed portion of the first pattern element and the first layer to form a second pattern element contacting the first pattern element.

Method and system for fabricating cross-layer pattern

A support apparatus for use in conjunction with an ALM system having a printing head being movable with respect to the support apparatus. The support apparatus a dynamic surface configured to support a printed 3D item thereon during fabrication thereof by the printing head, the dynamic surface being manipulable between a first position, at which the dynamic surface has a first concavity with respect to the printing head, and a second position, at which the dynamic surface has a second concavity with respect to the printing head, the second concavity being greater than the first concavity; and a manipulating mechanism operable to induce manipulation the dynamic surface at least from the first position to the second position.

Support apparatus

A method of printing a three-dimensional (3D) color object, layer-by-layer, comprises: obtaining a 3D CAD specification defining a 3D geometry and a surface color distribution for the color object to be printed, defining regions on a surface of the color object; defining colors for each region based on the CAD specification; determining, using the 3D geometry of the specification, conditions applying at respective regions that are liable to cause color variation, such that using the colors as defined at the respective regions may give rise to a coloration error; selecting color corrections defined for respective determined conditions; correcting the defined colors; and printing the 3D color object with the color corrections.

Coloring of three-dimensional printed objects

A tubular structure fabricated by additive manufacturing from non-biological building material formulations, and featuring an elongated core, a shell encapsulating the core and an intermediate shell between the core and the shell. Each of the core, the shell and the intermediate shell is made of a different material or a different combination of materials. Both the core and the intermediate shell are sacrificial. Additive manufacturing of the tubular structure is usable for fabricating an object featuring properties of a blood vessel.

A method of printing a three-dimensional (3D) object and a support construction for the 3D object includes depositing a model material, layer-by-layer, on a fabrication platform, to print a first portion of the 3D object, and depositing a support material, layer-by-layer on the fabrication platform, to print the support construction, wherein, in a predetermined number of the deposited layers, the model material and the support material are deposited such that a gap is formed between a surface of the first portion of the 3D object and a surface of the support construction.
