With a roller head () of a resistance seam welding machine, which roller head has a stator () and a rotor (), the bearing outer housing () is cooled by means of channels () provided in its interior. This increases the life of the roller head.

During the bending of sheet metal sections () in particular for forming can edges using a bending machine, the sheet metal is pre-treated at a flexing station () before reaching the bending station. The contact position (x, y, y') of a sheet on a measuring plate () is measured and the signal representing the contact position is reproduced on a display (), enabling the operator to adjust at least one element () of the flexing station in accordance with the deviation of the actual contact position from the target contact position, either manually or by means of a drive. The signal can also be used to automatically adjust at least one element of the flexing station.

Thus a lifter table de-stackeris provided comprising a lifter tablewith a stackholding deviceabove the lifter table. The holding unit positions the stack by motorized guiding elementsand. A de-stacking unit and in particular a suction unit is provided which can be adjusted in its position above the stackby a motor as well. The lifter table de-stacker with the motorized adjustability of the guiding elements and the de-stacker provides for a very fast adaptation to different sheet metal blank sizes. Such a lifter table de-stacker is preferably provided for feeding sheet metal blanks into a rounding apparatus which is feeding rounded blank container bodies into a resistance seam welding machine for container bodies.
